City open Cambiasso talks

We have started talks with Cambiasso representatives about him signing a new contract but we don't expect a decision soon.

I think its vital we sign him for another season as even though he is getting older he is still more then good enough to play in this league

The bloke played like a 26 year old, I say that because thats when the´re at their peak (so I understand).
He´s got alot more to offer & with us staying up I think he´ll like another season in the prem with our tight knit squad. Give him an extra 5 grand a week that should do it.

We need to build on what we have by keeping players like him & huth for i.e. Add a few more & sort our DEF out & I would like to think we should finish about mid table & without a relegation scrap like this season. Although it has been good watching us climb up the table in the last 2 months I can´t be ****ed with it again.

 

Yeah next season I just want a nice comfortable season. Not pushing too high up the league but not worrying about relegation. Try and progress year by year.

 

Assuming he has no plans on retiring, I wonder what any stumbling block could be? I can only presume that should he wish to not sign then he'd have been offered a deal either in Argentina or to a top club around Europe. I doubt he'd be holding out for loads more money as I can't see anyone else offering him a much better deal, except Qatar maybe!

 

Id guess because he has now 'done it' - he came for a challenge and he has now 'done it'.

 

He's helped Leicester stay up but there's a bigger challenge next season in pushing on to become an established mid table team.

 

Similar situation to Kev Phillips, age doesn't matter if you can read the game better.

 

I would love him to sign! born leader! but this depends on what targets Nigel has got planned? he may have another cracker up his sleeve.....

 

Give him what he wants! I actually think he could be even better next season with better players around him, give him the captain's armband too, I know it's harsh on Morgan but this is Cambiasso we're talking about!

 

He wants to move into coaching - so give him a role, let him start his badges whilst he is with us ...
