Would you want mega rich owners like PSG and Man City or would you like an owner that keeps the club finiancially stable?

I have always wondered who you guys would want as our owners. Personally I would love to build a squad with a stable club.

I want us to get back to being a big club on merit, not because some arab throws bucket loads of mone at us.
Although it would be good i'd rather it didn't happen personally

When the arabs leave, clubs are in deep **** financially. I'd rather have a club to support than a ticking time bomb.

If we had mega-rich owners I would only want them if they understood the game/fans properly and didn't sort of tear the soul out of the club like Man City/Blackburn. I think I'd prefer Ashley a lot more than the Venkys.

Having said that I think this question is becoming less relevant with the financial fair play rules, Man City are pretty much ****ed come 2012/13, whilst we should (hopefully) be breaking even or making a profit!

I would prefer to to build a successful squad with a stability and you don't need rich owners for that. However I wouldn't say no if someone mega rich bought us and we got success that way.

A team like Tottenham or Arsenal shows you don't need to spend a massive amount to acheive a good place in the PL

I'd want an owner who invests everything back into the club, and aims to then make a profit when he sells the club when he retires.

So, this transfer window, every penny fo Carroll's and Nolan's money would be spent on new players.

Our academy is slowly improving and MA seems to be investing in it. Uber rich clubs tend to cripple academies, preferring to buy 'the finished article' from clubs who have put effort into training.

Part of the joy is following the career of young players, joining as kids, working up into the reserves and the pride they have in the shirt when they first come on in the 70th minute of a League Cup game.

It must be soul destroying being a kid at Man City, knowing your manager (read chairman) would rather buy Santa Cruz to sit on the bench than give you a chance.

Slow and steady growth with sensible investment for me, we've played the money game before and it nearly killed the club.

This just about sums it up for me. Whilst it would be nice to be at the top winning trophies, can Chelsea and Man City fans honestly say that they feel a sense of achievement. It is just blind luck that they landed owners prepared to spend truly ridiculous amounts of money to buy success. It could have happened to anybody.

I'd prefer the sense of achievement that comes from winning something on an even playing field, even if that means that we never win anything again in my lifetime.

Also like MF says the best is seeing a kid from the academy come good for us. I am actually more excited to see how Fergie progresses next season than I am to see any of our new signings.

As much as we joke on, look how much we love it when Shola scores.

He's not the greatest player in the world (citation needed) but we've seen him from being the youngster who could be Alan Shearer's replacement, being a young player scoring in Europe, playing through injury when the likes of Owen nursed a splinter, having a freakishly good record against our most heated rivals, frustrating us with his wildly inconsistent form and most importantly, genuinely loving the club.

He's the sort of character you just wouldn't see at one of these mega-rich clubs. I can't remember him ever complaining about wages and if he kisses the badge you know he means it and he's not just posing for Sky.

He's just one of a number of OUR players, he's not the greatest but if we were to win the FA Cup, you can guarantee he'd be bursting with pride to get his hands on that trophy. Tevez at Man City, just an extra line in his footballing CV, no real passion for the club.

As well as class I want to see players who care about the club and its fans, money cannot buy passion.

    This!

It kind of sums up why I don't want Shola to be sold, ever :)

stable club as long as this happens
youth getting a chance = meaning we can attract the best youth players knowing they can rise through the ranks to the first team
keeping our best players = as soon as someone attracts attention from the so called big clubs we don't flog them or we'll never move forward
a chairman who knows football the region and the fans (not a tosser like lamearse)
    good communication from the club
give a manager a good run and not give a knee jerk reaction and sack him if we have a bad run (SAF anyone)
and like mod face said players who play for this club with passion and pride

    **** it. Yes I would.

I mean there's obviously the merits and ethics behind it which are kind of ****, but there's no denying that our team would be fun as hell to watch as they shoot up the table, win trophies and get into Europe. I bet Man City fans are having a field day.

Would be mint to have those sorts of owners,But I see it as kinda like people cheating on footy manager, it shouldn't be allowed, hopefully the rules coming in are gonna force a more sensible transfer market, and it's not just a Market for the rich teams and a Market for the rest, unless there's a sheikh with Geordie roots!!
