Don't think Kane is a one season wonder, but I don't know if a United move is good for him right now. He'd either push Rooney into midfield or he'll find himself 2nd, or 3rd choice behind Rooney and RVP. Problem is you don't snatch him up now and he has another really good season next year there will be much more competition to sign him up.
I don't think so either, If I was putting on a bet, I would bet for him turning out really good. But I would put down a tenner, not 40 million quid! Too much to gamble on a kid who has had one good season.
He's obviously not worth £40m, but Levy will get a big chunk of change from him from someone. It's whether you cough it up now in a year or two.
Yup, the stats clearly show this. I mean Costa only has a better goals to game ratio, in a team that apparantly, parks the bus every match and has 11 men behind the ball in all games. I mean, its a wonder Costa can score at all, let alone outscore everyone, even with a gimp leg and the fact that he looks like Quasi-modo's slightly less mutated cousin. But, you know, Kane's goals look better.....so he's better
Costa has also won La Liga and the premier league in consecutive seasons and played in a champions league final. Kane's had a decent season in an average side though so must be better, same with Berahino, Austin and myself in my 5 aside league. All of us clearly better than Costa.....
In the modern day transfer market 40 million would be a bargain for Kane. It's hard to call him a one season wonder when he's still knowhere near his prime and he's only played 1 season. So there's plenty of evidence to suggest that the kids a class act. There is no way we would get Kane for 40 million though, Daniel Levy would expect a lot more than that for him , I think we'd have to go up to around 60 million to tempt him to cash in. Kane also doesn't strike me as the sort of player that would help force a deal through, he wouldn't say boo to a goose so I'm told. So Levy would always be in a strong bargaining position
That makes it very easy to call him a one season wonder. He has had one season, and its been wonderful. The very definition......
Do I think he will continue to be good next season? Most likely yes. But there's no way I would gamble £40m on it. A kid who has had one season of first team football. That would be ludicrous. Also Spurs trained him up and gave him his shot, for him to leave after one season and say "Right **** you, thats me done", would be very harsh on Spurs.
The point I was making, is that he's not had loads of ****e seasons before , and then just had a prolific season. This was the first season he really got a chance, and he's been the best striker in the league IMO. I would worry more about him being a 1 season wonder if he was 27 and had had loads of previous poor seasons before having a prolific one
Aye I get your point. I am not insisting he will be **** after this season by any means, I just think that he should have to prove himself more, and give Spurs more of a chance, before he should command that much of a price tag and move to a big club. (Chelsea, Utd, Arsenal, Barca, Madrid, Bayern etc). It just doesn't sit right with me. I don't think he will be going anywhere this summer anyway, I can certainly see him at somewhere like United in 2 years maybe. Also with FFP, a lot of clubs need to be careful before throwing that kind of money at a kid with one season of PL football. United less so, but the point still remains.
Yeah and if he has another good season the price tag will double, make no mistake about that. We all know how Daniel Levy is when it comes to selling their star players. He won't accept anything unless it's silly money
No I was going by the 40 million Bodanki thinks he'll be available for. So I reckon Levy being the hard bargainer he is would be demanding 80 if he has another 20+ PL goal season. He's not a player they need to sell, nor does he strike me as a player that would cause problems if he's not sold. So they could ask for what they liked
If its £80m then he is just not worth it. You can get a decent 20 goal a season striker for less than half that. Leave that to the ****tard Spanish clubs and their "shows of power".
I would take Costa over Kane, but Costa is old at 35 (he looks it anyway) so I will have to give both a miss
Spurs never 'need to sell' , yet in the end they always do. They've a stadium to finance and he cost them nothing. In the end if someone comes sniffing he'll go but it's ludicrous to suggest the prices you are. End of this season, 30 million. With another decent season under his belt, 40 million. Tops.
They usually always sell because the player in question was desperate to leave. I don't think it was ever a case of Spurs wanting to sell the players. Afterall most of the money they've taken in for the likes of Bale, Berbatov and Modric they've splashed back out on other players. It's not like they've pocketed it. Harry Kane will probably be different to those other players, as he's come through the academy there, so may be reluctant to behave in the way the others did to force through a move
What if we used Chicarito as part of the deal. We free up his wages to pay Kane and Levy will get a striker in return + £30m
