Ramsey is dream manager because Tony is not throwing money around any more. If the budget was bigger, Ramsey would not be the dream
Great news. Am even prepared to drop down another league if it means we end up getting it right in the end. Long term stability will always trounce short term panic. A very sensible move and a timely one too....................well done the board.
Think he's a good Coach and the right choice. Go with what Ferdinand is quoted as saying on the Official too.
Good luck to Chris. Hope that all the fans get behind him and show support. Think he will do well as a champs manager. At least this has been sorted quickly so he can plan for next season.
I'll give the guy a chance. He and Les will have their work cut out in the closed season with all the changes, so we should get an indication of the way things are going pretty soon
Agree on everything, but not sure i could take another drop. There is no way we could not panic if we were to drop again.
Although not wanting to, it wouldn't be the end of the world. You only have to look at Southampton, Norwich and Wolves who have all done that and none of them seem to be in a too bad of a situation at the moment.
At least the decision has been made early so everyone knows where they stand going into the summer. Good luck Chris, make this a club that the fans can be proud to support.....
I'm happy. Wouldn't say over the moon, but happy. Believe he is more a QPR type of manager than we've had since Warnock, then back to Holloway and Francis. Everyone have to start somewhere. The Premier League is no such place though. Ramsey could do well in the Championship, build his experience and if/when he takes us up he'll hopefully be ready for the challenges in the Premier League. He already has a wealth of experience. And with us now deploying the Director of Football model I can't see any classic British managers willing to work under such a system. Only other option would be to get a Slavisa Jokanovic (Watford) type of manager, this would have represented a much greater risk and less a chance of succeeding imo. Thumbs up from me and good luck to the man, looking forward to watching us next season.
Agree - will be interesting to see how he handles and adapts to the clearance (and retentions) of the out-of-contract players, the sale of our in-contract stars & under (non) performing high earners, youth members to be brought in, possible season loans - I don't think we'll be doing very much buying. It will be big challenge for him and his team (hopefully less Kevin Bond).
My first reaction was 'Oh Phuck', but having seen that we are signing up the youngsters I have softened my opinion somewhat. CR was the academy coach and presumably knows these players inside out. If his appointment means that we can nurture this talent and build from within, I say, let's go for it.
Good news and I think he will prove a lot of people wrong on here His recent efforts are rubbished by fans because we didn't stay up … it's that fickle IMO We can only make a judgement when he has his own playing staff . he was dealt a bum hand form the awful bastard Harold who was IMO our worst manager of all time. CR has the potential to become our best
The first objective will be stay in the championship and fans on here need to accept that bloody quickly Back him even if we drop down. Lets build a QPR side and ethic we can all be proud of
But there's a big difference, we hit rock bottom after two dreadful years, we were 24 hours away from going bust when Cortese got Markus Liebherr to submit his bid. As soon as we had a proper ownership they put a five year plan in place, and the rest as they say is history. Tony seems to chase his tail while treating the whole running of a football club as a bit of a game, its not, & these little decisions sometimes have the biggest effects. He needs to back Ramsey now, and stay quiet while supporting him. As for Les, has he done anything beneficial so far in his time at LR? Or is it just a dinner ticket?
Great news in my opinion . Early decision, plenty of time to plan, have a clear out, restructure and rebuild. I really hope they use time to develope a top acadamy and an attractive playing style which brings positive results on the pitch (eventually). Personally I would like to see a quick, accurate passing, plenty of chances created ( with most taken of course) style of play. I guess I can only dream and hope.
I think now he knows he's the boss and not an interim he'll step up - totally behind him and glad it's a quick decision
Can see this being a disaster. Nice bloke and all that but I'm with Finglas on this one. Swiss Tony bottles it again. Dream manager cobblers
The decision has been made...and made early (good) He is definitely not the wrong sort.... (extra good) When he gets HIS team sorted, and not the dross he inherited from Sparky and Arry...we will see what he is truly made of. So from here on he has my wholehearted backing Come on u RRRS, come on you Supahoppsa
