He's already the best in the world, the world where Herrera is a world class midfielder that used to dominate Barca's midfield.....La La land I think they call it.
How so? He was always class if anyone had seen him at Athletico Madrid. This is a guy who established himself as their number 1 at the age of 18. He was their keeper for the Europa Cup which they won. But more than that watching him in La Liga for more than a season showed he is class. The media gunned for him at the start bcos they needed an excuse after VDS left but they never actually highlighted how good he was during matches which far outweighed his rare mistakes. We even had ppl actually thinking Lindegaard was better
Thats what i mean treble. After his start and the media on his back hes shown them all. What a keeper. So he doesnt shout just yet, hes now getting a new defence which he will be one of the most experienced members of so i expect to see a more vocal de gea over the years.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/32762016 LVG said the club already have replacements in mind should he leave, my guesses are that we're after Hugo Lloris, Petr Cech etc.
I did think Courtois was better at the start of the season but that consistancy from De Gea has changed my mind.
I don't want Cech, he's bang average these days. Knowhere near as good as he was in his younger days. The goalkeeper we need to go for is Lloris, he as far as I'm concerned is the next best keeper in the PL behind De Gea at present.
Would love to get Lloris from Spurs if we do lose De Gea. He's too good to be sitting at Spurs not playing Champions League.
The ambition is to get a solid GK like lloris or cech and to keep them less busy by having a good defence and attack. To rely on De gea to have match saving form all the time to save United is simply not good enough. My feeling is that he won't have another season like this again. I have been/am cool about De Gea leaving as long as we get a good replacement.
As long as it isn't Valdes, I'll be happy. I'm strangely optimistic De Gea will stay, although Lloris would be my first choice if De Gea leaves.
Sadly I do too. He was extremely fortunate to be at barca when he was, he's not good enough to be any decent teams keeper IMO.
