She was never my ‘girlfriend’, Swanny. In fact I don’t think that one was anyone’s ‘girl’friend! I think you are right though in saying that there was some sort of link between he/she and DBS. Michael Owen. Cor blimey where do I start. Well the number 1 reason is his comments prior to The Arsenal playing Liverpools on Good Friday 2004 (Invincibles term). Came up with some well nasty remarks and then started questioning the teams ‘bottle’ to go through the season unbeaten. Why he felt the need to do this I’ve no idea. Anyway, Liverpool’s were 2-1 up at half-time with a goal from ‘himself’ shortly before the break putting them in the lead. On scoring this goal he then proceeded to run around the perimeter of the pitch cupping his ear to The Arsenal supporters who were momentarily silenced. Again, not necessary and nasty. Anyway, The Arsenal had the final word winning 4-2 and, of course, achieving the greatest feat in English football of all time by going through the whole League campaign undefeated. Oh and of course there were then his snide comments when he left Liverpools, in summer 2004 – ‘I’m joining Real Madrid because I want to win the Champions League’. I’m no Liverpools supporter but a bit of a swipe at his former club there, methinks, and who won the Champion League in 2005! Personally, I don’t think he is as nice as he wants everyone to believe.
Firstly, yes there was a link, "her" girlfriend worked for DBS. Would imagine the lass was lucky to keep her job, although no fault of her own. How one of our members ever found out about this transvestite rogue is beyond me. "She" embarrassed more than a few of us, including yours truly. Was just a joke, SBC. On, Michael Owen, thank you for answering. This is a real modern history lesson for me. Had absolutely no idea he got up to those tricks. Guess I was going by what he's like today, i.e. pretty harmless guy who owns a good racehorse or two, and does a bit of horse breeding, I believe?
‘Her’ and Arkle going bonkers did though bring a smile to many a boring work day. Both undoubtedly had their ‘issues’ but when it came to their forum contributions both knew ‘how to throw a party’! A lot also don’t like him because he was viewed as something of a mercenary after leaving Liverpools. Earning a fortune from a variety of clubs whilst barely playing much football. Never had a problem with that myself as I don’t think you can crib a chap for trying to earn as much money as he can.
One that I really fancy again today is MISU MAC, 4.30 Southwell. Put this one up the last time and he took the step up well and thought he won with a little ease. Told myself to back it again next time out, has to improve again today which I think he will. Around 2/1.
A couple of darts at the Rcom card Kaleefa/Contemp of Court double pays 9/4 7.25 Madeira Classic.Won well lto at Navan and 8lb penalty should hopefully not stop him going in again, win bet 7/2
Quite a few from Seven Barrows have just gone through the sales ring at DBS – Royal Boy (£8k to Becky Curtis), Mister Chairman (£4.8k to Becky Curtis again), River Maigue (£9k), Mad About The Boy (£28k to Robert Walford), New Horizons (£17k), Out Sam (£145k to Highflyer), What A Jewel (16k), Her Majesty’s Open Hearted (£16k), Killiecrankie (£6k), Summer Storm (£2k), Big Hands Harry (£25k to Donald McCain) and Magna Cartor (26k). Any bargains??? Not in my book as you can’t improve on perfection.
Could be rats deserting a sinking ship or it looks like the forums fourth favourite trainer is having a bit of a clear out there SBC. It's entirely possible that connections of these beasts have thrown in the towel as Nicky 'The Needle' is losing his touch with those 'magic hands' of his? Either that or he hasn't been able to find a suitable supplier of snake venom for the last season or so
Just got 'the nod' that the doorman is expected to go very close in 8.25 at the common. So thats five im backing tonight, two to win, a double and an each way, hope one will at least oblige!
MISU wins again. Think he has another win or two in him over this Ć/D. Will put some of these winnings onto Ste's two over at common.
Done a lucky 15 on the 4 hughesy rides tonight @ Windsor. Shortest price 4s, he's bound to have a couple isn't he??
Remarkable ride by Aidan Coleman on Simply The West 4:40pm Towcester, had no steering for most of the race & still finished a good 2nd.
Seems to be a lot of money for Moores horse in Ste's first race - might combine that one with doorman in my native county tonight
Cheers attivo, hope you got on that one too! One more that's sticking out at me for the evening meetings is Go Sakhee 6:45 Leicester. Think the FAV is worth taking on in this race, it's been off the track for nearly 2 years and looks unproven over this trip, may just need the run back. Go Sakhee on the other hand definitely gets the trip and was in decent form last season
Ooh no way jack beaten in a photo finish.im happy to take the ew price as it drifted out like a barge to 10s
Very unlucky ste traded 2'on on betfair fantastic info mate I hope some followed and they will be well happy with a nice return
Some interesting transactions at DBS today including Jim Best paying good money for one but the eyecatcher for me is the good Dr picking up NO WIN NO FEE for £15K out of the Mike Appleby yard. Obviously thinks he can turn this 10f winner into a half decent hurdler. Drever, I don't think you can expect to see SQUIRE jumping hurdles any time soon mate. We do have a plan but it mostly revolves around 8-10f handicaps on the turf at the moment
