No matter what you say you can't deny both the manager and the players combine to bring success or failure, if not managers wouldnt be needed.

Not so sure - Rodgers is keen to play the 4-2-3-1 which requires a big strong target man. Mario is very good holding up the ball. Rodgers wanted Bony but he was too expensive.

Rodgers strikes me as a person who saw Mario as a win win - if Mario did well, Rodgers would have been lauded as a genius for finally getting the best out of Mario. If Mario fails, then he'll blame the committee.

One league cup since 2006 suggests otherwise.

Im sure you and a number of others are very happy he didnt pay those wages. You've been making enough noise about those that do cough up the money required <whistle> :bandit:

I think you'll see Klopp brought in if you lose next week too.

So in UIR world one player is responsible for success and/or failure at LFC but at Utd the star players need the rest of the team around them to function or they wouldn't be star players or win **** all.

You don't seriously base your assessment of a players quality by the amount of silverware won do you?

Disappointed with result today obviously but just reading around a few of the threads now, looks like our rivals have been in hyper-drive with childish comments, I suppose expecting a bit of class today was never going to happen.

Of course - the likes of John O'Shea and Wes Brown are world class because they won so much. <ok>

Of course not. Gerrard was a very good player who should possibly have won more. His final season has been a bit sad. He deserved better really but age caught up with him. Maybe those early career heroic performances have caught up with him.

What he has won does matter though. It will to him. He will always be disappointed in not winning the league as that would have capped his whole career. It wasnt to be in the end and for that <laugh>.

It will be interesting to see how Liverpool move on though.

I skipped the last 4 or 5 pages, seems like every #bitter **** who wished their club ever had someone worth celebrating is desperate to get some ******ed comment in

Calm down everyone, there's still another week and its not like your comments are original and won't keep <ok>

World class would be a stretch even for me <laugh>

Brown was an ok defender who could have been much better. O'Shea was the ultimate utility man. Both were vital to the teams success but were never the difference.
