By playing different personnel in a different division against weaker teams. In the PL you need to be able to mix it up and send out a formation to suit the opposition, and in this regard, although I like Bruce, the manager has let himself, the fans, the players and the whole club down badly. He's had more than enough money to have been able to buy players that would give him options, instead he's chosen, on far too many occasions, to attempt to put square pegs in round holes whilst retaining his favoured formation of 3-5-2. I'm afraid that there has been some rank poor management this season in the area of player purchases, player selection and formation. There are no excuses for me, not even the horrendous injury list at one stage, every team suffers them.
I like Bruce but I think the team will play very differently from the days he came in and started building. Not sure any manager can cope with the difference between, new manager, new signings , new formation, style of play and uplifting momentum vs relegation, lots of dead weight, being found out, formation/style of play that isn't working and on the back end of very poor results. Just because he's done it before doesn't mean he's necessarily the right man to do it, the circumstances are completely different to two season ago and I'm 60-40 leaning towards freshening things up. It'll require a complete overhaul of players and tactics imo
Anyone know the 3 lads who didnt make it back in after half time? One was throwing talc around, but didn't seem an ejection case. Fella with the pig was quite funny.
I thought we played well yet didnt take chances, hitting the bar 3 times in the last two games dosnt help again its the same old story. next week is a one off game the likelyhood is that we will lose however with a bit of luck and a must is taking our chances then you never know it is possible unlikely but possible.
Against Arsenal and Chelsea away. If they lose both then all we have to do is beat Man Utd. ... Oh, oh ... that would mean we have to get a shot on target! What about if Utd score an own goal?
It'll be the same formation, the same system with the same non entity of a performance and the same result as today. Stick your mortgage on the bastard.
I actually thought we played quite well today, just toothless as usual. Somehow, I have a feeling that we'll sneak survival still.
