Enough is enough! Earlier this week there was a Barton thread on here. He's huffed and puffed and put a fair bit of effort in for us this season, but as I said ... ' It's best for all that he goes, he's never been a Ranger and never will be.' From the second he walked through the door at Loftus Road he has poisoned the place. After this evenings evidence he must go, and I suggest we let him know this at this afternoons game. Read on to find out why. Joey Barton and Rodney Marsh face off in Twitter spat over QPR captain's future. The feud erupted when Barton revealed he knew nothing about his agent approaching Marseille over a move from, where Marsh is also considered a legend. Current Rangers captain Barton called Marsh a “skint, washed-up former player full of hatred” during a tirade on the social media site, He also claimed the modern day game is much harder to succeed in than it was in bygone eras. The feud erupted when Barton revealed he knew nothing about his agent apparently approaching French club Marseille over a move from current club QPR, where Marsh is also considered a legend. Marsh, who became a cult hero during his four year spell with the club after joining from Rangers in 1972, told Barton to “sack your agent. “You said he approached another team without your permission & you read it first in the paper.” After a dispute over the fact Barton the turned on him saying: “Let it go mate. You peaked over 40 yrs ago in Div2. Marsh pointed out that at Barton’s age he was captaining City as well as being an England international. However Barton trashed his record with the Blues saying: “haha you were terrible at City and by your own admission cost them the title. “You did well in lower leagues when football was played at walking pace. Probably earned two ollies and a frog.” And despite a swathe of criticism from both QPR and City fans, telling Barton he ‘wasn’t fit to lace Marsh’s boots’ he said: “He’s a bitter man. “He has had far too much to say in recent years. “He is a ‘QPR legend’ and 70yrs old, so out of respect I’ll leave him now.” Joseph Barton ✔@Joey7Barton @RodneyMarsh10 @QPRReport sounds like very wise words Rod. Enough freeloading from you for one day. Don't let the bitterness eat you up. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CFD2Nw4WgAEOCjn.jpg:large Marsh said: “Had my day. Now a dinosaur, but Twitter is public domain.” Barton came through City’s youth ranks making his debut in 2003. However he left under a cloud five years later having been involved in a number of controversies whilst with the Blues. He is out of contract at QPR this summer, with their relegation from the Premier League was confirmed when they lost 6-0 to City at the Etihad on Sunday.
Expect Joey to do his beloved Toon a favour today. The only positive here is this spat may help seal his exit. I expect Roller will be giving everyone an earache in the C&S today...
Enough is enough! ! Barton and his lip should go anyway. If he used as much time learning how to pass the ball accurately during a match we would have had a few more points on the board. It's not just how you behave on the pitch but off it too. He has so little respect. terrible role model for the kids. Get rid of him now!
One of the few players who consistently put in a shift for us this season and is not afraid to let rip when needed and call a spade a spade. You can't critise him for feeling let down by others and is clearly annoyed and upset about our relegation and the Commitment from Joey... Clint and a few others was sadly lacking in other big name players at our club....If we had more like them we wouldn't be in this mess....ok he says a few things out on twitter to upset people and start a debate...but you cant fault him for his efforts this season. I for one would be happy to see him at QPR next season
Whilst it looks a bit distasteful played out over Twitter; it's all a storm in a teacup. I'd have Joey Barton and Jamie Mackie in next season's first eleven in a heartbeat.
Yawn. That Marsh and Barton wave their handbags at each other on Twitter means nothing to Barton's future at QPR. That will be up to Les and Ramsey based on his performances, a clear Yes, and, whether or not Barton wants to play for us and is a positive or negative influence as a leading player in the dressing room, which Les and Ramsey must know by now.
DT is absolutely right, Those of you that have lowered your morals, knickers, jaws or anything else you could drop to accomodate this useless, nasty piece of Scouse should seriously look at yourselves. You are infected, he is useless as a footballler, a useless philosipher and a generallynasty, nasty piece of work. You have no values Finglas, Rangercol or anyone else that supports this thug, go wash yourselves in the Thames, just by Teddington and Hampton, that is The only way to salvation. Who would have thought it heh? Barton bought your souls for 4 straight passes and a bit of running!!! Infected,Infected
