Obadiah, I completely disagree with you. I think you are letting your dislike of the Allams cloud your judgement.
Now they have the cat2, they could build a bubble pitch, in their own time and re-instate the Airco, if they wanted to.
Good thing for Man City is that investment in youth development doesn't impact on FFP, also 200 mil is a drop in the ocean for those lads!
Well done the Allams. Maybe they do have the best interests of the club at heart after all. Shame they're so **** at PR.
I don't dislike them. When something's in your way rich men have the power to remove it or them. In Assem Allam's case it was hundreds of local people. You may think that's a price worth paying. I don't. The hundreds evicted are not wealthy and once the Labour Council abandoned them they had no power. They just have to live with the consequences.
Great news.. Though Allam had no choice but invest in the academy the premier league demanded it.. It was no good for the premier league "brand" having a Cat 3 academy in the there. The club were partially funded by the premier league to improve the facilities along with the sale of Ideal Standard ground I'd be surprised if they actually invested any money from its own accounts into this.
Of course its good that we now have this Cat 2 status, but the way it was done is so so wrong. The man of the community kicking out the users of the arena just so he could get this when there were so many other options. I am dissapointed to see how many of you support / accept waht has been done in the name of Hull City.
And the consequences are, as I understand it, the vast majority have moved to suitable alternative locations. It's not nice the way it was done, but in the long term there is very little actual loss of facilities.
You pay your money and you take your choice. I made mine. Like you I have no idea how many people stopped going because of the change of venues so you have no idea what the long term effects will be.
There's that old saying: 'The end justifies the means.' I don't think that applies here. Certainly not for me.
Are they community funded venues? Paid for by the council? Will they be liable to be kicked out at the whim of a multimillionaire in charge of a sports outfit bringing in £100million a year like they were out of the community funded facility they were in?
The comma after without was unnecessary as well. Made even more obvious when your correct wording is inserted. Mr Hat will be upset though. He will be calling you a pedant or a grammer (his spelling) nazi.
Even if they grow beyond belief and it all turns out fantastic, there's still no justification for the events surrounding it happening. Treating people like that is just plain wrong, not soley because they were well meaning amateurs supporting others.
For me it's another bad taste left in the mouth, yes we need a strong academy but not to the detriment of local people
