Wern't we promised promotion in two years last year at about this time? #groundhogday Does Mike still think Cellino will be a great owner?
So much for 'promotion in two seasons'. Another broken promise? The only positive is he's (hopefully) learnt his lesson with substandard Serie B nobodies.
I think his only hope in surviving as the "voice" of Leeds United is by putting his hands in his pockets and signing players that are not of the Italian second division blend. Ultimately, I can't really blame him for signing the players he did. If I was a ****ing crazy Italian cocaine addict I'd of probably of done the same and hoped for the best. But I hope, for the best; he's learned his lesson on that front. Who wasn't mildly excited about Adryan at the time? I'm a positive Leeds UTD fan and even I'm not expecting much next season. However, I'm not going to complain that he owns us because, well frankly - he paid the money to own us, that's his right. All we can realistically hope is that he's been taught a lesson and he will learn from it. It's ultimately in his best interest for us to get to the Premiership. However ****ing crazy he is - it's still going to be his aim. I'm fed up of hearing people say "why didn't we sell Austin in January" - I think people have forgot we were in a relegation battle at the time - what good is 400k transfer fee when you're playing League 1 football. Granted, he didn't do much to keep us up in the end, but that was a smart and brave football decision. Imagine the uproar if we had gone down. Redders - it's probably time for him to leave but what a hero he's been this season. I've heard so much **** about how he's ****ed up since Thomson left. Let me remind you that he was a man managing a club of players he didn't care for - with a forced system he (rightly) rebelled against - no scouting system - no assistant manager for most of the part. How we stayed up this season is a miracle and we owe him one. (The academy favorites) I've supported Leeds UTD for some time - I was introduced to the club when Zoumana Camera and Lamine Sakho were exciting signings - I remember Steve Guppy been out of breath in a game and literraly pull over because of it. I know you guys have fonder memories of Leeds but what I've established is when the times are bad, what Leeds calls for is "why don't we give the kids a chance" and "who the **** is Chapuis (or whatever his name was) why aren't we throwing on Mcmaster" - "We're ****ed anyway" Well pals - this season that dream came true, we were ****ed and we put an academy manager in place with a bunch of local kids in the team, it worked. Anyway - thanks for reading. I've heard Viviani is a good player.
