Haway Pards, I'm bored out my tits

For the first few weeks there were a flurry of signings and a flurry of media talk - including plenty of interesting comments from Pardew.

Now though, everything seems to have ground to a halt. No new signings in a while and no word from the club. There's literally just nout. Even media articles about us have diminished a lot because there's so little information to go on.

I'm confident that things will pick up again as some players are shipped out and we move in for more targets, but during these quiet periods it's mind-numbingly boring. It's also emphasised when Sunderland and other clubs seem to be signing players on a daily basis.

Chop chop Pards.

 

We need to get something cracking like as we need at least another striker. Ba is the only decent one we have. The rest are ****e, in my opinion.

 

I agree, Ba is canny but we need a killer striker signing. That'll do me nicely!

 

And hopefully not Bendtner. He is the worst striker I have ever seen play for a top 4 club in the EPL. He can't score while playing for Arsenal with all their creativity so imagine how poor he'd be for us. ha, total ****e!

 

Hopefully the club is just trying very hard to keep everything under the radar. Lets face it whenever the media reports we are after somebody there is then a splurge of stories linking loads of other clubs too and usually at least one of them can offer european football.

I think of it as a positive sign that we aren't hearing too many flimsy rumours.

 

Sunderland didn't sign anyone for a few weeks, then signed 8 in just under 3 weeks.

It's my view that until we sell, no other signings will be made.

Recently we've sold/released/signed:

OUT: Carroll, Nolan, Campbell + Kuqi Wage total: Around £160k p/w
IN: Cabaye, Marveaux, Ba + Abeid Wage total: Around £175k p/w

The signings we've made so far are just replacing the wages we've freed up. So, getting rid of Smith and Xisco is essential and will free up £120k-£140 p/w (if rumoured wages are true)

Also, potential sales of unrequired services of Routledge and Ranger will free up another £20k-35k p/w

Then we come to Enrique, Barton and Best which total a wage bill of £120k-£140k p/w

This quiet period is the calm before the storm.

 

I cant see more then one or two if any at all.Im sure Pards said recently in one of his interviews that he is trying to get them in before the USA tour...I hope this doesnt mean that they will make do with what is there if they fail to do so.

Personally I am very happy with our transfer business so far but as highly as I do rate Ba its a big risk with his knees. It would be nice to have another TOP quality striker and that at least gives us the option of strong 2 up front.

 

For the person who neg repped me for saying 'Haway', it's how I pronounce and spell it, and I honestly couldn't give a balls about Sunderland spelling it one way or Newcastle spelling it the other way, so piss off.

 

I'll probs get slated for this but in all Honesty I don't really rate Ba that highly.
Yeah he's a decent signing but I dont think he's gonna set the world alight.
As people have already said, We need a trophy signing.
