Watching the Burnley game it is was clear that our most effective attacking theat was Brady and Elmo on the flanks. Much as been said about our pedestrian midfield and it was in evidence again.

It begs the question why our creative threat are playing wing back roles when the likes of Aluko run around like headless chickens with no end product.

I am not sure I am advocating going 4-4-2 with Brady and Elmo on the wings (we have looked weak defensively before) but we have to get these two closer to the action.

On another note can anyone recall Quinn ever getting a shot off?

He scored on his debut against Bolton, but I can't remember much else.

A mate of mine was ranting about taking him off at half time on Saturday, he doesn't like him at all, he thinks he always looks busy and rarely loses the ball, but never does anything with it either.

A goal like he scored against Arsenal ( last Monday night) wouldn't have done us any harm v Burnley. Or the one he scored in the FA Cup Semi Final at Wembley. How many previous players of Hull City can we say that about?

Sort of agree but he is one of the few of our lot who will get in the oppositions's face, which I see as a positive quality.

Brady is the most frustrating player in the squad for me..
He has improved his defending as a full/wing back..
But in possession he kills me he constantly slows attacks down with too many touches, he always looks inside or backwards with the ball at his feet and he never and I mean never overlaps.
He has talent and can beat players but doesn't seem to have a football brain..

100% this. He is the most one footed player I have ever seen and constantly finds himself running around the ball as he cant control or pass the ****er with his right foot.

Yes, at times I have seen him play like Bernard Mendy who was more concerned about playing to the crowd than his team. He HAD to show that he could beat his marker and if there was no marker he would go and find one. Brady has a unique ability with crossing the ball and together with Elmo we should have had more goals from their efforts. Against Burnely, every time Elmo was on the ball he had two Burnley defenders on to him which restricted his crosses. I would have liked to have seen Robertson and Brady form a partnership down the left but they didn't seem capable of 'reading' each other.
The main fault of course has been in the 'last third' where we have shown little, if any, direction in the box.
This can all be put down to the fact that our lads have failed to 'bond' with each other through being unable to field a consistent side through injuries to our key players.
Terrible season where, with just a little bit of luck, we would have found ourselves 10-12 points higher than what we are now.
I feel for Bruce for having to play players out of position and the players for being unable to adapt to a game plan through being 'out of position' from their normal role.
I think Brady and Elmo will be with us (should we be relegated) next season but it is to be hoped that we have 'strikers' in the box who can anticipate their crossed ball and be capable of turning it into a goal.
