Wenger moaning again that Swansea had the audactiy to defend and not let them score.
Am I the only one who is absolutely sick of retard managers moaning that teams defend against them?
Swansea have a technically inferior side, so what are they supposed to do, come to the Emirates, play open as hell and get their **** rocked 6-0?

Teams did this against us last season, and our failing last season was that we had a hard time breaking down teams who "park the bus", which was partly solved this season. And we are not above doing it ourselves when needed (see some recent games).

But managers crying because opponents refuse to play in to their hands is childish and is pissing me off.
Grow the **** up Wenger and any other manager (Jose included, though we all know he appreciates a solid defence more than most) who comes out with this BS.

I think he's probably embarrassed having made noises in the week that the team are ready to challenge for the title, that they'd have challenged this year but for the first 8 games etc....and then goes and loses at home to a team 'on the beach'.

I haven't seen an Arsenal team consistently perform over a whole season in over 10 years. Why does anyone expect that to suddenly change next season? They still have the same issues they've had for ages, i.e they are missing a top class spine to their team and real leaders. Wenger constantly fails to address these failings and the circle continues.

But yes. You can't slag off a team doing what they consider it takes to get a result.

If Juventus pull it off tomorrow night they will be lauded for their efforts of holding off the mighty evil Madrid.

Exactly, its basically saying "Wahhhh I wanted to win and they wouldn't let me"
And this whole "They didn't play" bullshit.
Since when was defending, not playing.
If Arsenal couldn't even score against a team that wasn't playing, then how **** must they be?
Like Gary Monk said "If we didn't play, I am not sure how we just got 3 points!"

Goons screw up always when they need a result to move up.

Always said 80 pts will win us the league. Horrible teams all around.
Jose could have completed the season lot earlier than in April.

Wenger and Arsenal, the gifts that just keep on giving. A cup final loss and they'll be a meltdown of gigantic proportion from our South/North London ,Dial Square/Woolwich friends.

First you had Humpty the genius LVG stating that he was very unhappy that oppo teams were not allowing his team to play how he tactically wishes to? WTF? Sorry Louis but launching it to a big lad up front isn't really a tactic as such and believe it or not isn't too difficult to combat.

Showing consistency I must add that I was equally embarrassed when Jose called West Ham out last season for the 19th century football nonsense.

How is what Swansea did any different to what Arsenal did at the Etihad. Same result too.

Is is frustrating when your opponents set up only to stop you but hey, that's why managers get the big bucks.Surely Wenger knows in advance how Swansea HAVE to play given their squad ?? So, how come he didn't devise tactics to counter this ?
Simple answer really, he isn't good enough, or his squad isn't good enough. Last season our squad wasn't good enough against exactly those tactics, so we changed the squad and Bingo !
There is a lot to be said for keeping it zipped when you lose matches, Arsene is a very slow learner it seems, especially on how to get a squad that can win things.

Agree, it's total hogwash and amounts to "why won't these less well off sides come and play expansive football so we can easily take all the points" <laugh>

It's especially ironic coming from Jose tho, at least Wenger sides play attacking football no matter the opponent.

Man City away? You may have missed that one.

I did state above re embarrassment when Mourinho had a pop at West Ham last season.

Perhaps we need to review the way the points system works.

    5 pts - 1-0 defeat but above 70% possession.
    3pts - 0.0 draw but above 70% possession
0pts - 1.0 win but didn't play how the opposition wanted you to.

United and Arsenal would pi55 the league next season. Chelsea relegated.

v Man City, one game out of hundreds, and they didn't do a bank of 4 with a bank of 5 in front of them either. <laugh>

I did notice a distinct lack of a thread when Jose said even worse about West Ham, and it being Jose of all people. Too much irony for the word irony, so maybe #megarony

Thankfully his tactics got you knocked out of the CL, cos last nights game between Barca and bayern was great, if Chelsea was playing instead of either of them, the game would have been an awful spectacle.

So we've gone from 'no opponent' to 1/100? Did you see those goalposts move? You clearly didn't see the game as they actually did play a bank of 4 with a bank of 5 in front of them in a 4-1-4- formation. Perhaps your talking out your ar5e in an attempt to have a dig which is fair enough but try not to make stuff up as you go along - it doesn't give you any credibility.

If you don't like the way Chelsea/Jose approach games and are concerned you may watch an 'awful spectacle' then it is probably time for someone to inform you that your TV has one of those on/off buttons. We'll just endure the 'awful spectacle' of a double. CHAMPIONS. :emoticon-0102-bigsm:emoticon-0102-bigsm:emoticon-0102-bigsm

Wenger's comments were out of bitterness, but what we did against City was different for several reasons. Firstly because we started the game with a striker and secondly, despite having less of the ball, we had several very good opportunities to score on the counter to increase our lead.

Swansea literally only had one chance in the whole game and they scored from it.

And let me just add that Wenger's comments were nonsense and I have to give credit to Swansea for how they played. They are an adaptable side and Monk has done a very good job.
