Mr Tickles.. We will have no Hull City to support if we become Hull Tigers. Took me long enough for the penny to drop....i dont think it has in your case. Not an insult Mr Tickles. Nowt wrong with having a different opinion
Pearson said: “The club is in a great position. What has happened at Hull has to be unique, certainly for a Championship club. For the owners to pump in so much money is just unbelievable. “They undoubtedly saved the club from what would have been liquidation. It couldn’t have been administration because there was nothing to administer. “The club had no assets and no playing assets. In fact, if anything the club had liabilities in terms of the personnel. “I still don’t think, even now, that people appreciate just what the owners have done for Hull City. “To put in £50m to a Championship club is something that just doesn’t happen, especially when the money cannot be considered to be a commercial investment.”
Portsmouth didn't have much to administer either. The ground had already gone and I'm not sure if the parachute payments were charged to creditors. You don't need assets to go into administration. Administration is meant to be a breathing space to find a buyer and get a better deal for the creditors. City would have gone into administration because the banks and Bartlett stood to lose millions. I have no doubt that Assem Allam thought City was going into liquidation and he had to get his cheque book out quickly if he wanted the club. Bartlett wasn't stupid and walked away from City a very wealthy and relieved man.
After all this time I'd like to thank Mr Allam once again for his wonderful gift to the City of Hull. Thank you for saving our club when no-one else would. Thanks for putting so much money in and keeping us alive, when we'd almost certainly be playing Conference football right now had you not stepped in. If we had a football club at all that is. Your gesture will never be forgotten and it will always mean you pretty much have the key to the city. When you decided you wanted to change our hundred year old name under the pretext that we'd be more popular around the world and would make more money from advertising, I applauded you as you saved my club. It seemed like a sound idea at the time, and still does. When you called me a hooligan and said I could die when I want, I didn't mind. The gift you made is just so colossal that it overshadows anything else ever that might come across as a teensy bit negative. I'm glad you changed our club badge too. Because I appreciate you so much. You know, for what you did. I also think it's entirely fair that you raised the season pass price by 36% in two years. After all, you saved us. We should do our bit in return. Even with Bruce saying how we're one of the most deprived areas of the country. We should cough up, you're right. You're just the best. Removing 'Hull City' from the match day programme and all communications is just dandy. You saved us. Thank you once again. I also think the 'Proud' campaign is superb. No-one is more proud of our club with no name than me. I'm proud that the city has been ripped in two by yourself. But most of all, I'm just so proud we have an owner like you. Happy times and places. Thank you again, Dr Allam. We'll never be able to repay you. Finally, and probably most important is to thank you for helping me abandon any reasonable thought and morals I once had. I would probably have strongly disagreed with some of the things you've done, had you not saved our club. I didn't like those feelings anyway. But now I'm morally empty I can just enjoy all you're doing for us and are still doing to us. You are simply the best. Thank you once more. Yours, A braindead but grateful resident of the City of Hull. **** right off.
Why has he been removed. Is the writer not entitled to his opinion. Surely he cannot have been removed just because his opinion disagrees with some on this board.
The ground hadnt gone and they owned it. They also owned the land around it. So different situation to ours. We had **** all.
It's his/her first post anywhere on Not606, he/she is obviously not a Burnley fan, he/she is hiding their whereabouts behind a VPN ................ I'm guessing he's been removed cos' he's a ****ing wummer? As a wummer, his opinion counts for nothing.
The administrators bought it back for the supporters trust for £3 million and had to go to the High Court to stop the owner selling it to a higher bidder.
The club didn't own the ground or the land around it, it was all owned by Chainrai. After court action in 2013 he was forced to sell it to the supporters trust, but when they went into admin they owned nothing.
