Financially we won't be in as bad a position as last time. Big wage drops will certainly help. I can't imagine they're being a fire sale, I saw in the paper that Palace and West Brom want N'Doye for £2.4m. I'd tell them to come back with a serious offer. I think we'll generate a surprising amount from player sales but I can't see the Allam's selling players off cheap.

Think Mo Diame was brought in to put pressure on these two but injury put an end to that plan.

I've said it before if we manage to do a Newcastle and keep the players we'll be in a better position if we go up, because we won't have to buy a load of players? Which is the main problem for all newly promoted teams! Beat Spurs and we don't have that problem though!

It seems worth pointing out that we aren't relegated yet. It's a funny old game and all that....

Players like Jelavic, N'Doye and Huddlestone I would expect to leave but I don't see that as a major issue. We'll get good money for the first two, they aren't young and Jela has big injury concerns. I have a sneaky feeling that we'll make money on Tom. He may have had a horrendous season, but I think people will pay for the name, instead of what he actually is.

Didn't we pay £3million for him? Why would we sell him for £2.4million now he's actually proved he can score in this league?

That was exactly my thoughts. He's scored 5 in 13 in a crap team. He'll be on crap money if we go down and I'd except us to see £7m-ish for him.

It's guaranteed goals though, same as with Jelavic. It's all relative though, clubs are paying £8m for unproven talents, so I'd expect them to pay it for a proven player and you'll still get a good few years out of N'Doye

Jelavic yes, the thing about jelavic is you've got to have periods you dominate teams and get the ball in the box for jelavic to come alive and hit the net. We unfortunately don't do that so when the balls getting knocked upto him 40-50 yards out with his back to goal he's ****e. So how many promoted teams can do that?
N'doye has scored a few I'm not sure I'd say he's proven though imo

If we are relegated I think we'll have a strong enough team to come straight back up. Of the current squad I'd see Huddlestone, Livermore, Jelavic, and Hernandez leaving for sure, Robertson if we get an offer above 12 mill, and Elmo and Alex if Steve Bruce quits. Priority signings will be a new keeper, striker, and CMF. I'm assuming Harper will retire.

None of the leavers except Jelavic and Elmo would be major losses. The CMF has been a major weakness this year and needs to be revamped. We will still have a very good Championship squad that should challenge for promotion next year and will have the parachute payments and transfer money to fill in the holes up front and in goal.

The squad could look something like...

    New GK McGregor Jakupovic
Rosenior Chester Dawson Maguire Macca Robertson Lenihan
Ince Meyler New CMF Snodgrass Diame Quinn Brady
    N'Doye Aluko New Striker

I'm looking forward to next season, be it in the Prem or Championship. We will bounce back. I'd like to see a change of the Manager. We need a new more attacking approach and tactics. I admire Bruce but we need revitalization. The only thing i'll miss as an ex-pat if we are relegated is watching my team on TV every weekend. After almost 70 years of supporting one team I'll never support any other team. Anyhow fingers crossed we'll beat Spurs and Newcastle lose!!!

    Rosie Dawson Davies Brady

    Snodgrass Diame (New CDM) Aluko
Exactly what I'm thinking. Would be fantastic if we could keep Jela as well as otherwise we're looking short up front. I'm going to uni so will miss the plentiful streams as well.

    McGregor

    Elmo Chester Maguire Rosenior

    ---------Meyler--------Quinn
    ---------------Snodgrass

    --Ince-------Jelavic-------Aluko

We would have to build the team around Ince, IMO. Ince is best in a 4-3-3, and it would also suit Aluko too.

Whether or not we could keep Elmo and Chester is the question, though.

If we get an offer above 12m for Robertson I think Assam might drop the name change idea!

Sorry, he won't ever drop the name change. We need to get lucky and a new owner comes in.

Max Clark regularly plays in CM now, rather than at LB.
