I did watch it and even though there was more huffing and puffing , you can tell some are resigning already. We have so many new players that they are Unlikely to feel that passionate about the club and some most likely preparing their get out plan in their heads. I'm glad you once again disagree with me but I couldnt give a ****. We don't have a team that will want to stick through the hardships of the championship and fight for the club. It's ****ing blatantly obvious.
I actually think we'll smash burnley. Feel like it will be one of those games where we get all the decisions. The question is can we get anything out of the other games
That's definitely a post of the heart and not the head. Have you seem Burnley play recently? They all work hard for each other, defend from the front and have great movement, all things that we've been sadly lacking in of late.
If Steve Bruce wanted out, he has a ready made option of stepping down with dignity, by offering the off field distractions as a reason. Based on comments from previous employees as they leave, I guess there's something in the contract to prevent that though.
It is a little bit but the logical mind also thinks city usually end up doing exactly what we didn't expect them to. And we are usually favourites going into game vs burnley which as you're pointing out , probably isn't the case this time round. Logically a cagey affair with a "could have gone either way" outcome seems most likely but It really wouldn't surprise me if we did exactly what no one expect and smash them. Also Burnley have played good teams and therefore were well organised defensively. I reckon they'll be more open against us as they'll be hoping for 3 pts.
I obviously hope that you're right but to have any chance of 'smashing them' we need Rosie and Robbo in their natural positions with Elmo and Brady ahead of them. Against Burnley we're going to need movement and pace, as they certainly have both. Huddlestone should be, but won't be, dropped for this game.
Well I suppose our position in the table and burnley's will affect the game plan. We could be behind them by then, we could be in the relegation zone so we may need to actually go for it like leicester have. avoiding losses hasn't worked.
Just had a look at your run in chaps. Bit scary, that, buuuuut....You were the better team than us first half on Saturday. You put pressure on the ball, didn't let us play, and Huddlestone was allowed to pull the strings. You had your chances before we got a little bit lucky with the pen (a clear penalty, but we were beginning to look like we'd never score from open play). You didn't look to me like a side with no fight in em. I've seen teams capitulate at St Mary's this season (both Sunderland and Newcastle for example). You didn't do that
Everyone's going on about SB signing a 3 year contract so why should he want to leave? Surely both parties have get out clauses that will allow them to terminate a contract early. .Anyway, putting the question your way, do we want him to stay? I think our loyalty pay-back time to him is coming to an end and we'll see big changes throughout the club next season. I think Mike Phelan was brought in to replace Bruce who craves for more quality leisure time.
Bruce needed money to get us promoted last time, he'd need it again this time. Look at Mick McCarthy at Ipswich - spent £110k and they're in the play-offs!
