Tomorrow and Wednesday, we have two friendlies against Erith & Belvedere and then Ramsgate. According to the club website we are playing a 'Gillingham XI' for these games. What players players does everyone think will play in each match? With it being classed as an just a Gillingham 11, i would be surprised of either was an overly strong side.
I would imagine that by fielding a Gillingham XI that Hessy will be giving some of the youth players a run out together with the some of the players that we retained from last season who did not make the first Xi on a regular basis.
a bit of news that i've discovered is that jermain defoe's brother...shane defoe is playing on trial for us, either tuesday or wednesday, he's a 23 year old striker with pace!!!
Does anyone know anything of Defoe's background? Played for any club's academy / non-league teams? Can't say I've heard of him 'til now.
