I'd like to think that we could all pull together for todays game for the common good of the club. Can we not suspend all hostilities for just 90 minutes and support the lads onto victory. If a collection of British and German soldiers could manage it back in 1914 in the middle of a World War then surely we can pull together for an hour and a half in a game of football.
I admire your honesty - but that's all. Today is not a day for the small vocal Allam-out minority to seek attention but for everyone to get 100% behind the club in what is a very important game.
Got to sit in the West Stand today, feels like I am going to be in enemy territory. If any of these head in the sand types kick off near me I'm not having it, lifes too short to be a pathetic scaredy cat like the guy starting this thread
Why should an owner who is selling the club have any influence on the clubs name, I urge all true fans of Hull City AFC to join in any protests today, and as for the players being affected, what utter horseshit, they will feel the fans passion and respond
It's already been pointed out on here that the people who will be protesting are the people who will be most vocally getting behind the team, but you obviously don't want to hear this fact.
The players know the protests aren't about them, these flaskers are trying to drown out legitimate voices with specious arguments like letting General Allam change the name because he can and nobody can say anything about it, football is nothing without the fans
Even if it doesn't affect players the point is those of you who sing Allam out shouldn't have allam in your mind at all during the most important match of the season There should Be nothing but positivity for this game.
It surprises me that somebody with your username isn't more of a traditionalist to be honest, the generation before yours went to war against dictators
I sit in the west stand, I have since 05/06 it's just where I got my seats with my wife & kids! We're towards the north and we've had all the away teams snapping & snarling at us over the years then the move came along, and I though it would have changed the atmosphere for us in the west! But it hasn't if anything it's created a divide! Some people do just go to watch the game & support the team! But you get that kind of supporter at every club! I'm all for Allam out at 19.04 if you look you do get an applause from the west! but after that I think we all should get behind the team and beat the f'ckers we owe them one!
The point that the original poster is entirely missing is that this name change will be the line in the sand for many supporters. If the name changes there is no Hull City and no club to support. Compared to that relegation is insignificant. So even if any protests affected the players - which they quite clearly don't - the protests should be constant and vociferous. And protesting during the match is the only time we can. I am actually embarrassed by the some of the spineless supporters we have that are willing to accept Allams bullshit or get all upset when a few protest songs are sung. Pathetic. Allam needs to leave, and the sooner the better. His divide and conquer tactics are clearly working.
I appreciate that the protesters are also the most vocal supporters. All I am asking is that all that energy is used in a positive way just for 90 minutes.
It's unbelievable that people who sit quietly and just watch the game think they can dictate how the vocal fans choose to get behind the team.
We're a fractious bunch at the best of times, it's in our genes (or g-nomes in Happy's case) but I don't think this club has ever been so divided. Sadly, that seems to suit more than just the Allams.
