Linton Crosby ran a brilliant campaign of scare stories and smears.
The result is clear, the fear isn't about a hike in VAT it more about the future of the health service, the welfare state and the inequalities in society. For all I won't be affected by changes to welfare and I am on the right side of the inequality divide and hopefully won't need the nhs I fear for those who will.

The scots Nats were played, milliband didn't deal with the situation.

There is one plus, those labour politicians who were linked to the deeply unpopular Gordon Brown are now all political toast and there will be a fresh start.

Great result in Scotland, but a bit hollow as Ed very foolishly refused the offer of a coalition, which cost his party, & will cost him. Everyone but him knew he couldn't win. Fool, and agree that he wasn't PM material.

I do like justice being meted out, and the Scottish Labour & the UK LibDems (particularly in Scotland) found out the true cost of getting into bed with the tories. Will they ever learn?

    Inspired.

By Jimmy Krankie and Salmond upping the ante Millband had no choice to distance himself, the nett result a Tory government.
The English electorate who lets not forget make up 85% of the voters were scared into voting to stop the SNP by the right wing press. The SNP were then voted in in scotland as a result of Millibands "snub"........ Sturgeon thought she would be king maker and instead her stupidity got Cameron a working majority. typical flat thinking by the sweatties.

Glory I think all along leggohead wanted the tories in, because it would speed up another referendum. So she didn't want Labour in, she wanted to kill them off and tell the Scottish people that she's pillaged Scotland and even now they have to suffer another tory government.

If they wanted independence they should have let the English vote instead of the sweatties the vote would have been 100% for.

    Absolutely on the money Doc.
As soon as Sturgeon said that she would join together with any other party to stop the Tories it put Labour in a position of being supported (in a formal coalition or else a supply and confidence position) by SNP, whether Labour liked it or not............giving Tories all the ammunition it needed to go on the offensive, leaving Labour nowhere to go.
She now has the Tories to deal with, and will make demands on Cameron that he will not agree to leading to another referendum in Scotland.....which will end up in us having a built in Tory majority in what is left of the UK.
I would suspect that any Labour supporting areas that are left in this country (N.E;N.W; areas surrounding Leeds), will be left to fend for themselves, whilst the Tory supporting section of the country will be subject to the largesse of the coming Tory govt ( i.e. further bribed to continue voting for the Tories)...Cameron will finish the Thatcher project...................unless the vast majority who did not vote for the Tories get together, mobilise and destroy them.....

we only have a few years left to save this country

    Eek!

I had just about come to terms with it.
Perhaps the SNP could field candidates in the north of England or even in everywhere apart from London, Middlesex and Surrey and we can become independant from the south east.
