Have to say I am in 100% agreement with Beefy on this one. Peanut Butter OR Marmite, on toast. But one on top of the other..? Ergh is absolutely the right word.

To be honest, that was my initial reaction but I can't really knock it as I haven't tried it.

I like it the other way around, with the Marmite on first, then it mixes with the butter before the peanut butter goes on. Top it with cheese and bung it back under the grill and its the dogs

How about an elected House of Lords, based on PR, and with greater (but not total) powers of veto?

I must say I'm very disappointed with what some people have posted on here in the last few pages.

I know we live in a free society wherein people are able to make decisions but in this case its just plain wrong and outright damaging to society as a whole. I hope after the fallout from this we can get some strong leadership to challenge this threat and put in a collective effort to locate and educate some of those who still refuse to understand that Marmite is disgusting!

Wasn't there some sort of election on as well?
    :)

I liked because it's funny, not because I think Marmite is disgusting. I think it's ok, although I prefer Vegemite because its not so salty.

My wife thinks I am strange putting marmite in a crumpet. There is something sensual about the marmite and butter mixing together as it melts through the body of the crumpet.

She also thinks I am strange for putting it on scones.

    Other top marmite tips:

On a jacket Spud (not a Spurs fan in an anorak)
Spread on to the skin of a chicken before roasting.
    On tea cakes.

It is just wrong Tommomo. It's a class thing. These posh types think they are above foundation foods like marmite and would probably enjoy a pate or a compote.

While I was warming over hot crumpets and marmite on a Sunday evening as a kid watching Ski Sunday with my family, they were probably in the Alps enjoying caviar on the après-ski.

Back then I though 'to Ski' was to eat a yoghurt.

I don't like a corked wine :) Plenty of good screw top wines.

I haven't seen the British public this disappointed since they heard the full version of Babylon Zoo's Spaceman.

Synthetics are on a major decline at the moment. Just haven't quite maintained the market share from metal that they had hoped.*
