Why the panic? http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/32657823 Surely United have the pulling power, stature and money to out-muscle PSG. Bizarre comments from Butthead
I interpreted his comments as he would have preferred to make the offer at the end of the season, but had to bid early as PSG were doing so. He's not saying he's bidding early in case PSG bid as well in the off-season, he's bidding early as PSG were too. If PSG are the only team to bid for Depay then he would miss out on signing him, hence being 'forced' to bid early...
Van Gaal explains his Man Utd recruitment strategy: "schomeone was schelling a forward for over £25m, scho I was forsht to bid"
Why would Depay consider PSG > United? UIR would say it is no contest. Maybe LVG is more realistic and has a better understanding of United's stature from a European perspecitve. Also, if he buys Depay then PSG may take Tia Maria off his hands since their fall-out
Obviously he wouldn`t/didn`t, but United had to bid to be considered. Players can`t just pick a club at random
Depends on your personal ambitions and objectives but I could understand a 21-year-old Dutchman going to PSG on mental money over United. Obviously the Prem is far superior but arguably PSG have the greater chance of European success and as a place to live, Paris seems pretty sweet if you're a multi-millionaire playboy type. Saying that, student night in Manchester can be pretty tidy too.
Depay was always joining. The fact it took a few hours to complete the deal from start to finish shows that everything but the paper work was already sorted long before. Van Gaal would have had a word while he was still the Dutch manager. I guess the club just decided to sort it now rather than wait a few weeks. Psv have already won their league while United could do with the positive news.
Wouldn't worry if I were the PSG chairman, they will be able to buy di Maria for 10-15m after his shocking season
Why after a poor second half to a season would Di Maria be worth less than what Liverpool paid for Balotelli given that, apart from one half decent season, Balotelli's whole career can be best described as shocking! Are you Brendan Rodgers?
The bit about how Brenda rang him up and pleaded with him to join the Dippers, or the bit about, he wanted to play for the worlds biggest club?
