I got a funny feeling that Bamba may be walking on rice paper after his comments, I also think there'll be more surprises to come. I personally welcome Del Fabros signing if and when it's completed. http://hereisthecity.com/en-gb/2015...s-over-surprise-permanent-deal-for-da/page/1/
Yeah I can't see Bamba joining unless Cellino leaves. As for Del Fabro: if he did (and I'm not saying he did or didn't) withdraw from the squad with 'injury', I don't want him at the club. Complain about Redfearn all you want, these guys are professionals and they need to act like professionals regardless of the situation. If he didn't, I'd take him, fee depending. I think with Bellusci, Bamba, Cooper and Wootton we already have four decent centre halves (assuming Bamba does sign permanently, and if he doesn't I'd rather us go for someone of his quality, not a youngster with the potential to be that good) so signing a fifth who probably won't play when we don't have an endless pot of money seems irresponsible when we have more pressing issues elsewhere. On a free or a small fee, fair enough. I read somewhere it would cost over £1m to make it permanent though - not too sure about that.
He has only played once for us, I can't say it is a signing that excites me, I personally still don't believe a single loan player will end up signing on the dotted line. To be honest I don't care if they don't because to put it in simple terms none of them are anything special.
How can we say none are anything special when we have not seen them in action Fabio played against Sunderland and had a very good game so I would try and get him permanently what can £1m buy these days why will sold Pearce for that! I would like to see Montenegro given more game time next season these boys are still very young
Haven't seen any youth team games this year but I have heard a lot of people say Montenegro isn't as good as he's made out to be. He does seem to score a lot for the development squad though.
Exactly, coaches have seen them and worked with them, the armchair fan believes on one showing they are worth £1m - Yes Redfearn might and could and should have given them some more game time but seriously, if they were that good would he have left them out in the cold, I don't think so. Are they marginally better? Who knows but I do know we need to be a lot more than marginally better next season if we want promotion and give me a home grown academy player over a sulking foreigner feigning injury in protest any day.
I personally don't think Cooper is anywhere near good enough for this level. Bellusci is ok and had a really good run in the team for a while but dropped off again, seems inconsistent but good enough when he is on form. And Wootton is being used as a full back. I personally wouldn't mind another centre back, I would prefer one better than what we have rather than a youngster thats been nowhere near the first team for the whole season.
All 8 can feck off, regardless if they were all injured at the same time or not(which I know I can't prove, but my gut tells me otherwise) none of them even turned up for the lap of shame........
I've only seen the youth games when they were shown on LUTV, but I suppose it's the fact that he has scored over 16 goals(and the "real" fans who have actually gone to watch them can correct me) if I'm wrong. So I suppose a lot of fans went on the fact that he had scored so many goals be it in the reserves/development squad and thought that he deserved a run in the team.
No problem Ristac, I was just making a point regarding Monte, that even though a lot of supporters haven't seen much or if anything of him, he deserved to get a run based on the fact that he has scored a load of goals. As for the other lad, he's another who hasn't had a run, but personally and it is just my opinion, I don't think he or any of the other 7 should play for the club again.
With you as the box to box midfield general and me as the no holds barred centre half we would be better than the current crop.
Based on Del Fabros performance against Sunderland, the potential is there to be a good defender for us, he had a good game and even the media said it too. I like Del Fabro and think he should be signed, he's young, energetic and has great potential, I think he can do a good job next season if Bamba leaves. I'd also like to see Monty given a few more starting games to see how he goes, we'll never know unless we give'em a go, after all, some say same thing about some of the academy youths, it's a similar situation. If we keep bringing in too many players from other clubs we'll lose a lot of potential, whether they're Cellino signings or not, good players won't stay at a club if they think they'll never get picked. I know we all have our different opinions on certain players, but it's not up to us, we have to accept what happens, even if we don't agree with it. Main point is, whether they're from academy, Cellino signings or come from another club, they'll be playing for Leeds and we have to support the team, even if we don't like or rate the player/s. Some players may just surprise us next season.
