There was a discussion on here regarding the cost of Bournemouth team recently. It is worth noting after last night that the whole Bournemouth team which played last Saturday cost less than either Huddlestone or Livermore. Or a number of other players. Whilst our best performers last night were frees or cost relative peanuts.
Rob Harris @RobHarris Clearer picture of AFC Bournemouth finances - now have 2013-14 accounts. Losses: £10.3m. Turnover: £10m. Staff costs: £17.3m. Debt: £21.5m Rob Harris @RobHarris AFC Bournemouth have £25m loans. £7.9m from 1 of owner Maxim Demin's companies (to 2017). £17.1m from Bournemouth parent company (to 2018)
Sounds pretty healthy if they are sensible with the PL riches. If they stay up they will be in a good position to progress. Aided by everyone being together with a chairman who shuns being the focus of attention.
They will live within whatever means possible i suspect. The £120m should keep them going for yonks - if they dont blow it all that is.
I read today that Callum Wilson was being courted by up to 10 clubs for around £12m. The price for Championship strikers continues to rise. Wikipedia claims he's scored 20 goals in 44 appearances this year!
The PL windfall should set the club up for a generation, lets just hope that Demin is what he appears to be and he's not going to do what those pair of ****s the Oystons did to Blackpool and their PL cash and rape the club for all it's worth.
He seems a level headed sort. He wouldn't allow himself to be pushed forward during the celebrations though he was obviously deliriously happy. He is worth a fair amount so he won't be using the club as a milch cow.
I read somewhere that Eddie Howe said they wouldn't look at Premier League players as they'd cost too much, he'd either go abroad or Championship. I find this a strange tac tic as Dyche was asked if he would have done anything differently this year and he said he'd opened the cheque book and spent more in the summer
He's saying that now but if they lose their first three-four games and the window is still open, he'll soon buy.
Chairman was on radio earlier saying that any money spent would be on players. No point extending ground when they didn't fill it every week even though it is only a small ground in the Championship. Better to try and stay up and then see how it goes rather than extend a stadium they are not filling if they end up going back down. Sounds eminently sensible. Though we have fans who think if you have a larger stadium the fanbase automatically increases to fill it.
Just one of many delusions: Livermore/Huddlestone/place name here is ****, Steve Bruce is clueless, our Chairman is the worst ever... It's amazing how the club is on the brink of its most successful season ever.
I suspect with a bit of time travel it's the extra 3k we stuck on our gate from moving to the KC. Our attendances actually grew in a bit of a bizarre way. We were sitting on about 9k for the first half of that season when we moved, then about 12k for the second half. Then we gained another 3k the next season, but between the promotion from Division 3 to our 2nd or 3rd season in the Championship we only ever gained another 1k. I'd have expected more of an increase, especially in that second consecutive promotion season. There we had the same glory hunting potential as the previous year but at a higher level.
