I agree entirely Watford, and have written similar on another thread. But I won't bore everyone by adding it again here. Reading the same posts about supposedly bad tactics from Ramsey on about every football thread on here, when he didn't have the players available to change the tactics much if he wanted to, and had to put the current kids in the team and on the Bench, gets pretty F boring after you read the same trollop 3 or 4 times..
Assuming FFP really fu@ks us and we have no budget and a transfer embargo I'm sure Ramsey will get the job as we wouldn't be much of a proposition for anyone else. I don't really understand ffp but I am fearful that it could send us into free fall. Just hope it's not an agonising wait for the implications to be made clear.
Out of every crisis......................etc etc Give the man some credit and give him a full summer and a full season at the very least before character assassinating the poor man. We have had "top football names" in both managers and players and look where that has got us! How anyone can realistically judge CR's performance over the last few months is quite frankly ridiculous given what he has inherited from the abject failure that was Redknapp. When you look at the current situation with our club, from top to bottom it appears to be a bit of a poison chalice so any top name manager remotely interested in taking it on would be doing so for all the wrong reasons ......... primarily I suspect for a) the money and b) the ready made get out clause of the club being such a basket case there was nothing they could invariably do to turn things around..............as they depart counting the loot! CR wants it and wants it knowing just how bad things really are........................ at least give him credit for that? I personally, would be very happy to keep him on and give him a couple of seasons at the very least.
http://www.qpr.co.uk/news/article/q...olders-loans-2306179.aspx#gm7oMDz3tHhdPVIf.99 As discussed on here before, the numbers for our promotion season are a £9.8 million loss. We are allowed £8million, so any fine will be against a loss of just £1.8 million. FFP isn't an issue, because the FL would have needed to appeal against our financial results filings, and to the best of our knowledge that has not happened.
The results were submitted and properly filed, so have to be the numbers that are taken into account. I hope I'm not missing something here, like you. However, it would seem to take a legal challenge by the FL against our filed results to stir this up again.
Fingers crossed. On Ramsey, seems to be a fair bit of hypocrisy going round. I don't remember many (apart from those of us who never wanted him in the first place) calling for Redknapp's head after the 2013 relegation. The circumstances were similar, both inherited teams in dreadful form and failed to have much impact - Redknapp did get us a couple of wins, Ramsey did improve our away form. The big difference is in morale - the team were pathetic under Redknapp, they seem together now, and the comportment of the managers. Redknapp was an embarrassment, blaming everyone else, especially the very people he was meant to be motivating. Ramsey has been dignity personified, no excuses, no whining. I don't know if he's a good first team manager or not, I do think its unfair to judge him definitively on 15 games with an already sinking ship.
The clue is in the first line of post # 11. I got his title wrong but I think it is pretty obvious who I am talking about.
...Loftus Road refreshment kiosks will be replaced with food banks, all our players will be on zero hour contracts and Tony Fernandes will hand out free "We're all in it together " T shirts
Well according to his Twitter feed TF is a Cameron fan, so makes sense. I would like it if he carved his promises onto something though. Perhaps Chris Samba.
Ramsey isn't going anywhere. I'd prefer to find out what the FFP fall-out is before a decision on manager is made, so we can see what we're working with. So much uncertainty at the moment. Even if we confirmed Ramsey now, his hands would be tied this summer until we know the sanctions, and if there will be a legal challenge by the club
I'm pretty sure that there were many on here asking for Harry to go after we were so pathetically relegated, but I can't be arsed to go and look. I think you and others are confusing the fact that you like Ramsey and hated Redknapp, with whether he is any good or not. I like Ramsey and I think that he has conducted himself superbly since he took over. However, his tactics and selections have been every bit as questionable as Redknapp's imo and there has been no evidence that he is this "fantastic coach" that you and others keep banging on about. His record is worse than Redknapp's, although over a shorter period I realise. Redknapp was an embarrassment, but that doesn't mean that we have to take a duff coach as a replacement. If he gets the job for next year I will give him a clean slate and see what kind of football is played.Let's all hope it isn't more of the crap we've had this season!
When have I said that he's a 'fantastic coach'? I've said several times that I have no idea whether he is a good coach or not. I can't judge him on the basis of the **** he inherited. He's got loads of qualifications but they may well be meaningless. He might turn out even worse than Hughes and Redknapp, but we will ony know that if he's given the same amount of cash to waste as they were. Which isn't going to happen. As to his selections, the only ones I don't get are the omissions of Isla and Vargas when he was fit. The others - Yun (when not injured very average this year), Traore (**** and always has been), Krancjar, SWP, Hoilett, Taarabt (talented, lazy, unfit, and clearly the other players hate him) - he would have looked at and thought 'which of these has the balls for a scrap - none of them'. Which left him with 4 CBs, kids (which he said weren't ready for it but he had no option) and hoofball. All we hear from you is 'Pulis, Pardew, Sherwood, Pulis, Pardew, Sherwood' all bog standard, boring English managers cut from the same cloth as Redknapp. Want to add Allardyce to the list? They are all too far up their own arseholes to come to us anyway, and they all play hoofball too. I was the one who first started talking about Clement on here, but who knows if he can cut it, he's always played second fiddle to a very strong manager until now. It's human nature to try to find someone to blame for failure. Fair enough you want to pick on Ramsey. I think it's a massive, collective **** up from the top down Iincluding Ramsey) to the stewards. If he's still around next season let's give Ramsey the clean slate in the context of what resources he has available. At the moment I'm expecting us to struggle in the Championship because the current squad will be gutted (not a bad thing in itself) and I don't think there will be much cash available for a quality rebuild. Plus our youth set up is obviously rubbish, so pretty low expectations from that direction. But if we have no cash Ramsey is likely to be the only option. If there is money to spend I'd be more likely to say - this bloke has never done this before, nor has his boss (I have much more misgivings about Les Ferdinand than Ramsey) - we need to get some experience in. That experience is more likely to be a Championship or League One level manager who can buy bulk cheaply from those leagues and below than any 'names'. I'm really struggling to believe that we have spent 3 of the last 4 seasons in the PL and have made no discernible progress as a club - quite the reverse.
Paul said in one of his posts that he thought Ramsey was a "fantastic coach" and you, as you more often than not do, "liked" his post. I presumed that you were agreeing with his statement. Ramsey has continued with the hoof ball that we had with Redknapp. He has repeatedly stated how important Zamora is to us, even though that tactic has been failing for months. He completely messed up by playing Furlong when he shouldn't have, resulting I'm sure, in the lad's confidence taking a big hit. He has continued to play 4-4-2 which has left a weak defence badly exposed. Playing a different formation, whilst not meaning we could suddenly pass teams off the pitch, would have given the defence more protection. How many times this season has the opposition been running at our defence, with the midfield no where to be seen? Yes, the choices have been limited, but not playing Vargas and Isla and continuing with a failed system were bad selection choices imo. As for Pulis, Pardew and Sherwood. All I've said is that I would have taken any of them to keep us up. I don't particularly like Sherwood, but he has got Villa playing good football......not hoof ball at all as you suggest. Also, Pardew is renowned for playing good football, like the 4-3-3 he employs at Palace. Pulis's style isn't good on the eye and I wouldn't want him long term, but he would have tightened up our defence and I'd have welcomed him as a temporary coach till the end of the season. I really fail to see what difference it makes that these coaches are English. What point are you making with that comment? Clement is English too isn't he? I'm not entirely blaming Ramsey at all and I don't think you'll find a single example of me doing that. Redknapp is mainly to blame, along with Fernandes. I'm not convinced about Ferdinand either, but I continue to hope that the money men will back us for the foreseeable future. I've already said that Ramsey should get a clean slate if he's our coach next season and let's see what he can do. However, on a QPR forum, it is more than fair to discuss his record with us so far imo.
In the post you replied to to start this little discussion, my last line was 'I don't know whether he's a good first team manager or not...' I like posts that make me laugh, that come from the heart or that I agree with. More often than not Paul's hit at least 2 of the 3, but I'll bear in mind your interpretation is different. We are discussing Ramsey's record from different perspectives, no problem as far as I'm concerned.
do any of you really believe you know better than a man that has served his time like CR. Do you really believe for 1 second that in some imagery world that if you were given the managers job at QPR when Harry left, that any of you with your "tactics' with the same players would have done better.... please get real opinions yes but get things into perspective !! Remember also that you don't know what is happening on the inside, like RF's case, he was getting slated so much, some of it fair but with the current news it was hardly surprising that he didn't play recently. If he listened to half of your opinions he would be playing 442 or 433 or 352 or 4321 or 541 or any other combinations you would like to suggest... so whatever he does most of you will be pissed without any knowledge of whats going on the inside. Lets see what he does next season but some of you need to get your heads out of your arse !
