Hull City Supporters' Trust (HCST) would like to invite shareholders, junior members and friends new and old to a pre-match event at The Lair on Saturday 9 May - just before we cheer HULL CITY AFC on to victory over Burnley. Last year we held a fantastic City Till We Die event at The Lair and we would love to see everyone again for a pre-match drink, live entertainment and a warm-up sing-song! Hull's own Vinnie Whitehead will be live on stage and we will have speeches and Question/Answer sessions with Robin Osterley from Supporters' Direct and Mark Gretton from HCST. Non-HCST shareholders will be able to sign up on the day for just £5 - the first £1 of which secures your lifetime share in the Trust. A keynote speech will be given by Robin Osterley, the Chief Executive of Supporters' Direct. Supporters' Direct is an influential organisation that represents all Supporters' Trusts across the English, UK and European game and has a considerable amount of influence at the Football Association, the Premier League and FIFA. Robin's insights on how supporter involvement in the game can develop will be really interesting. The event will be a chance to have your say on the work the Trust is currently doing, and influence the direction of the Trust going forward. And we will have the full range of Trust merchandise available for sale in return for good old fashioned cash, rather than via Paypal. The details are as follows: Venue: The Lair, Anlaby Road, Hull Date: Saturday 9 May 2015, before the pivotal home match versus Burnley Time: 12.30 to 14.00 hours Host: Pete Mills - Hull Kingston Radio Keynote Speaker: Robin Osterley, Chief Executive - Supporters Direct Music: Vinnie Whitehead Q&A Session: Mark Gretton, Chair of Hull City Supporters' Trust Merchandise and Membership: T-shirts, Badges, Mugs, Wristbands, plus sign up to the Trust on the day We look forward to seeing plenty of you at The Lair for what promises to be an entertaining, interesting and enjoyable get-together for Trust shareholders and junior members. Chris Smith Board Director, Hull City Supporters' Trust
Sounds good, can you ensure that none of the clown shoe smelly mongs that normally inhabit this venue are not allowed in.
Perhaps the chaos running the HCST could do a signing session? Would be good for the kids and some of the fans to meet their heroes and get an autograph.
Hull City Supp Trust @HullCityST Billy Whitehurst will be our special guest at the 'Meet the Trust' event next Saturday before the Burnley game.
The Lair is my usual port of call before a game , decent pint i.e. cheap, and easy walking distance to the ground.I only go in on matchdays but it has always seemed ok to me.
Maybe the "booers", that do not believe protests such as chanting allegience to the club's name should be staged in the stadium & that all stadium protests should restricted to their own, far more positive, protest, namely booing, could stage a protest outside the Trust's meeting. I'd suggest some chants of "boo boo boo, we don't like what you do" or "Hull City's name we don't care - we follow the Premier League everywhere" or maybe even "We're Hull Tigers we're Hull Tigers - whatever Allam says we'll not say no - cos we're his Premier League whores. Maybe for added effect you could wave your half half scarves around your heads. Don't forget your deckchairs though, no standing allowed.
Hope we'll be seeing you there. Open Q&A, non-members welcome. Perfect opportunity for you to raise all the good points you've got about how your trust can improve. You, Chazz, Happy, sure I'll see you all there raising some good points.
I'm popping in for a scarf, however we stopped going in there when a bar persons dog had a **** on the carpet in the bar and they left it, a year later when I walked in to see someone, I couldn't get in the door at first for disabled scooters, when I got in I thought it was a new meeting place for the pissed up disabled society. I've never seen so many walking sticks and crutches in one place before, great how they play pool and darts and walk up to the bar and go outside for a *** without said sticks eh, it was a hallelujah moment seeing that.
I forgot about Strovolos, he's the worst one! Yeah get him there I'd love to see him try in person to make some of the points he comes out with on here.
It's ideal for you. You hate Mark Gretton don't you? Since you've got such strong views on the Trust I bet you'd love to come and and put them forward to him, make him squirm. Sure we'll see you there.
Why would i go to a meeting of a Trust that doesnt have the bollocks to say what it stands for? Secretly you want Allam out but dont have the bottle to say it. No i dont hate Gretton. I dont hate anyone.
It's sad and revealing that you seem to think these things are confrontational. Life's not that black and white.
