Hahaha ****ing hilarious, Ok he's spent £150m net MORE than Martinez However, your eagerness to limit the discussion to 1 window is ****ing laughable in its deluded transparency. Btw over the last 5 years you've spent an eye watering £767m gross and £326m net, compared to our £304m gross and £58m net. So £268m more and a Mickey Mouse to show for it. Way to go The Red Sox! #owned
No I just asked that if you want to say we've gone backwards (from 2nd to 5th) then you should also only consider the spending since we were 2nd It's not difficult Unless you're #bitter
What I actually said was that overall I.e. Since he started, he's spent a shed load of money and has had 2 seasons out of 3 that given the resources available must be considered poor. He spent over £100m last summer btw, and by his own words and yardstick, that should have meant you challenged for the title. #snookered
Which makes it a poor season. Which no one has ever disputed. It hasn't been the same level of an shambles as Everton's season though, who have spent £40m and are barely challenging for top half of the table.
Have I said our season is anything other than absolute ****e? That'll be a no then.... Martinez has the first few months of next season to prove that he's up to the job. He's had a season less than Todgers and £150m less to spend, so any comparison should take those facts into account.
We got a couple of years of brilliant football which exited everyone and was a joy to watch and entertained us all. More important than any trophy in grand scheme of things.
Dunno, you said it was ****e months ago and you wanted #martinezout Then you beat Man Utd and haven't mentioned him since
A couple of years? I think you mean 1 In a few years time the Playing some boss togger trophy will be long forgotten. More important than a trophy my arse
Frankly the first year of Rodgers was defined by his call to dump carroll, fail miserably to replace him and ended up with Suarez sterling and boring with downing at left full So that season Mr Rodgers has Luis Suarez but got faff all goals and ended up 7th Second season was a transfer disadter of a summer but on the pitch better up to Christmas in a league where honestly anyone could have won it bar Utd at Christmas and arsenal were first. We improved with a new formation a lot and that's great Third season is defined by not replacing Suarez and a very poor summer again Lots and lots of average players in and out and we've ended up with a poss poor attack that struggles for goals and Rodgers can't seem to trust placing his best player at no 10 consistently Result looks like 5th and two semi finals making a big squad of nearly men For the record we've had 2 January windows with no signings since coutinho arrived so make of that what you will 2 full years have passed with only sahko being a real good buy IMO Can looks good now so I'm hoping as a cm he can make a place his own
Football is entertainment. Yes winning things is better but in the grand scheme of things, unless you're there and can celebrate in the stadium just to have a memory and something to remember, doesn't make much difference does it.
So what you're saying is you wouldn't really care about the result of a CL final involving Liverpool if you weren't there? That just makes no sense to me.
2005 says to me what a trophy can do cos frankly the two Chelsea ties and the earlier round were pretty poor So I reckon not too many will remember the Suarez eta as a glorious one for lfc But Gerrard will be always defined by 2005
Football is about trying to win every week. It's always ultimately about winning things, doing it with style is a "nice to have" but winning is always the ultimate goal and what creates history and memories. Only galant losers spout that winning isn't that important compared to the style of play
The 2005 games may not have been filled with great football, final apart, but there was a **** load of drama along the way. Its not always about the team moves or outstanding goals. Sometimes its simply about the tension, emotion and the importance of the game. Supporting/following a football club is mainly about the emotion, if you don't care about the result and care more about how entertained you are, regardless of the result, then you aren't much of a supporter.
Yup, pretty much. The only number that counts at the end of the game is the match result, not possession, shots on target, headers won, ground covered, time spent defending the 6 yard box with 11 men etc.
No not at all. But football is about being entertained, why bother watching football if it's boring you. I'd rather go listen to some music than sit there through a dull game of football. Only reason I watch football is to enjoy it in a similar way to watching a film or tv programme. Different if you're in the stadium or possibly pub because you can enjoy the atmosphere etc.
That is another good point I call this the roller coaster You have to get on and experience the lows to appreciate the highs I still say the ethos of lfc has to be we win things. We are not there to make up numbers
