There is no team in the Premier League that is as attractive to watch, such as Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Fc Porto or Juventus and to say it is the best league in the world, couldn't be any further wide of the mark, unless people enjoy it because they care if Aston Villa Hull City, Newcastle or Sunderland stay up. I think people from other countries have been attracted to the Premier League through the years because of the top teams battling it out and this season the top teams have not being good enough leaving Chelsea to walk it. The trouble I have with Chelsea, is that they are so boring to watch and how many times have they picked up 1-0 wins, they do whatever they can to win a match, whether that means getting a player sent off, diving etc and it is ruining the english game, you may say other teams cheat and dive but we have to look at why that is happening and I feel it is because teams are now starting to see that it is the only way to win. Yes a win is a win but this doesn't change the fact that the Premier League is becoming rather boring (imagine if every team played like Chelsea). Top signings have to be made next year and certain managers have to be brought in, the likes of Van Gaal, Pellegrini and Mourinho just don't do it for me and they don't have the pedigree that the Premier League has had in recent years. Plus Bournemouth have gone up now.

would I bothered if we went down? no! because for me the Championship is looking far more entertaining....I have had my say!

I agree, just look how bad the English teams did in Europe!
5 years ago it was the best but not now.

I actually agree that Arsenal have shown class at times but they seem to always come short when they play anyone in the top 4 or 5....I would agree that last season Man City were pretty entertaining but there star players have not performed at all this season. I do believe the premier league changed when Alex Ferguson retired and Jose Mourhino and Pellegrini came in to the premier league.....I also don't think much to Brendan Rodgers and his style of play to be honest, they seem to only have one trick and when teams figure that out, they are very tedious to watch.

To suggest that you couldn't be any further off the mark by suggesting the Premier Leagues is the best league in the world couldn't be any further off the mark.

To prove my point. The Scottish Premiership is the best league in the world.

whether is Tigerpants or not, I disagree and say that La Liga is more boring since the big teams hardly ever lose to the smaller teams. Yes, the Championship is the most open league but the PL is still better to watch than La Liga. Bayern dominating the German league is not interesting either.

France is more of a contest.

But this is all down to the disproportionate amount of money awarded to the same old clubs year in year out by the Champions league.

It's made the UEFA, CWC and now the Europe League defunct.

    Pity for football

It comes down to how you define "Best"...that's all.

It's usually considered the best because even though top 6 seems are well defined, at a stretch every year 6 teams might win it. that's still 3 more teams than most leagues .

The quality of football might not be the best anymore but that's a different criteria.

It's the uncertainty that makes the PL a great league. Look at us - struggling to avoid relegation, but we've taken points off 3 of the top 6 this season, and come close to embarrassing the champions. On the day, anyone can beat anyone, which seems far less likely in some of the other major leagues.

I think the problem is football in general and the rules surrounding the game these days. I've mentioned most of this before, the cheating, diving etc etc but the ref's are bound by certain rules and tackles that are not tackles at all go punished interrupting the flow of the game. Another pathetic tactic that is used for time wasting is going towards the corner flag and messing about for as long as possible, for me that would be a sending off for the playing instigating it, I don't care who does it. I don't go with all this crap about the game has changed its faster more entertaining etc etc it isn't its still getting that ball in a goal 8 yards wide and 8 foot high its the rules and implementation of getting those goals that have changed.

A player can commit what passes for a foul in todays game and is told off, then he commits another foul and is told off again, then he does it again and gets a yellow card, then another foul and is warned, another foul and is sent off, unless of course he happens to have really clobbered his opponent and off he goes. Then we have the pantomime performances of the managers on the touchline which follows, Wenger who see's all the fouls of his opponents but none by his own team is a prime example, football is indeed more of farce these days than an actual sporting event and no matter what division we are in next season I'm still glad I went regularly when it was a proper game and refs were proper refs who punished real fouls.

I haven't read the really long posts on this thread, 'cos they look boring as ****, but I'd just like to say that I think the PL is quite ****.

If that's what we're talking about. I dunno.

yes it'd be far better if one or two teams won all their games 10-0. that's the very definition of competitive and what we need instead.

    zzzz.
