    He's not young, and is probably on the wrong side of 80k p/w. If we could get him to take a cut I'd like to see us get him though.

    Agreed. If he'd take a pay cut to 60k per week, i'd pay 20m for him.

    Wouldnt pay any more than 10m for him, there's players much younger we could get for 20.

    Yep, because i don't buy into this stupid belief that all players start losing form and are actually old at 30 years old.

    Some players are at their peak at 30+ and i think Berba still has a good 4/5 years in him.

    What kind of goal return over those 5 years would you expect? Enough to justify spending £35m (excluding bonuses)?

    I'd expect somewhere around 15-20 goals a season, which would be excellent. He took a bit of time getting up the PL standard, but was excellent for most of last season.

    He's not just a goal scorer he also does a lot for the team also. He's a technical forward player, not just a goal getter.

    He's not as good as Rooney or Hernandez, but i'd still take him. Joint top scorer mate. He has the ability to score goals and we need a player like that.

    We'd be all over him anyway. If we thought Owen was lazy (which he wasn't) we'd certainly think Berba was (which he isn't)...

    Arguably he is better than Hernandez, its just Rooney and Hernandez have great link up play, plus Hernandez can only get better, Berba is at his peak. 10m
