Play for a draw and we'll likely lose. Play expecting to lose and we'll lose. The Burnley game in theory is the easiest, particularly if they are pretty much down by then. But really I wouldn't be surprised if the players were even more nervous for that one and put in a worse performance.
Agreed. There's a kind of morbid fascination in watching other teams' results, but it's our own that are the ones we should worry about.
We need a draw and a win - that would put us 3 points clear of Newcastle, So even if they managed to get a win from somewhere, we'd still be ahead of them on goal difference.
I like your first point and 100% agree with it, but your second is way out. If Burnley are already down by the time they play us they'll have zero pressure on them and they'll want to go out on a high, either way it's not going to be a walk in the park against them.
I should have been clearer, I meant the pressure on our players. I actually look forward more to the games now where people say we have nothing to lose.
The Arsenal game I certainly wouldn't be playing for a draw however I would be very happy if we got one. The Burnley game is totally different they will come at us now because of the position they are in it will be much more of a pressure game and won't be easy because of the expectation however its one that you feel that we have to get on with and win. Regarding points needed Its difficult because after each weekend with unexpected results I change my mind so have given up. Of the bottom teams fighting for me Leicester and villa will pull clear because of their run ins but Newcastle who also have a good run in are in trouble because of their terrible form ( a lot depends on a retuning Cisse), Sunderland like us have a difficult run in and depending on how tomorrow night goes they will then have a game in hand, for me its to close to call all I can say with three home games is that the team need the same effort and commitment along with unity under difficult circumstances with great backing from the supporters and then after that lets hope its enough
Chelsea v Palace. Tight game, so Hazard throws himself to the ground in the penalty area and the ref, with no hesitation points to the spot. Hazard, you are a decent enough talent without having to be diving all over the place.
