Mayweather is bigger, stronger and technically better. Be interesting if they had a rematch and dropped a weight, but otherwise it"s a mismatch.

Credit to Floyd though - no charisma or charm, and he's not a 'warrior' , but like Lennox Lewis of latter years, he's a technically superb boxer.

Perfect example of a poor opponent being hyped up mate, he never had a chance of winning. There's no quality opponents for Mayweather since Dela Hoya. Even then Dela Hoya needed to fight him several years before he did.

Boxing's hayday has long past. Almost like WWE wrestling now.

Except that mayweather earnt more in just one fight than Beckham did in his entire career. Where there is money there will always be a supply of the best talent in future years, so I don't see a bleak future for boxing.

Well there are 300 million Americans mate, that's a lot of PPV customers in the US alone let alone outside of the US. Sure look at the attention it gets here, a hyped up fight between two old geezers, Mayweather fights have broke earnings records more than once.

As for your best fighters comment. The best fighters seldom fight each other these days and when they do, it's years after they should have, Like Dela Hoya and Mayweather for example.

Ever since boxing went PPV it's been utter cack imo, overhyped nonsense, I remember the bums lined up to fight tyson, hyped up and you waited up till 2 or 3 am to see a 30 second fight.

Money certainly does NOT ensure fighters of ANY quality.

Nigel Ben I liked, Eubank in his early days, Michael Watson, Collins and others who used to fight on Eurosport, not ppv

Not a Mayweather man but he is certainly top class. The Mourinho of the Boxing World. His defence is arguably the best in the game, such an intelligent fighter.

Pacman 5 years would have been a better fight.

Also, I still feel De La Hoya beat Mayweather <ok>

It's a shame everyone keeps referring to Pacmans win over Oscar. Oscar was criminally weight drained and the fight should never have happened. Mayweather shut the doubters up in spectacular style this morning.

Mayweather is just much better than any of his opponents, there's a real lack of a challenge in that weight atm and he's just too clever a fighter with a solid long jab, good left and a proper right cross on him, accurate puncher too.

You need to get in and land some pain on him early to shake things up, a few choice body shots early in a fight has the boxer thinking about his ribs for the rest of the fight, sometimes to the detriment of his face<laugh>
if you trade shots with the prick at arms length, he's gonna flatten your face and score lots of points off you all night long.

he truly is the Jose Mourinho of boxing, fights to not lose and punishes mistakes.

FFS he didn't even train properly coming up to the hatton fight <laugh> That's how bad the competition was.

The ideal opponent for Mayweather is a Joe Calzaghe type fighter. Someone with a very high workout, lightening hands, great stamina and a great chin who is prepared to throw the kitchen sink with high volume and sustained pressure.

Someone with a good chin, quick feet and punishing body shots would be a good test for Mayweather never mind the other stuff :D quickly get in close, taking a shot or two if you need to and make him piss blood by the end of the first :D Pounding his right side will make him be inclined to drop is right elbow to defend so a good left hook would be handy
