Also they take it serious because tr money they get form the league isn't as huge as we get. If the money in the prem wasn't as great, pressure to finish in it wouldn't be as high so having a good cup run would be seen as huge compared to here where it's used as a 'distraction' that could hurt your league form possibly sending you down.

Context fail Biscan, I obviously said neither league is competitive, in terms of the whole league, cos if you are not one of a small number of clubs from both leagues you have no chance of winning the PL or La Liga.

And incase you point to last season and us. How often have we competed for the PL? As often as Valencia, nope, Atletico? Nope. How often do Spurs compete for it? Arsenal are my equivalent of Atletico tbh cos they don't spend massive amounts tho they do have more money than Altetico I'd imagine, but most years Arsenal do not compete for the title too

The argument was which league was less competitive, or more, not what UIR said "Is Sisu still trying to say La Liga is competitive" I obviously never said that.

Can't you read a few lines without coming to the wrong conclusion? <laugh>

The simple numbers are, given the disparity of funds in la Liga.
More titles spread between about the same number of teams
But far more trophes for the Spanish also rans cos they are just better than PL also rans, even with less cash. Euro success just proves this, and so does the difficulty of the bottom teams in la liga prove that the mid section of La Liga is superior to the mid section of the PL. Plus the PL just don't have sides as good as barca and Real. Both of which have lost 10 games btw, Chelsea 2 losses. Arsenal and below are not in that class and so cannot be compared to Real and Barca atm

Similar points gaps between 5th and first, similar lost games of the top 5 between two leagues.

What I find laughable and disturbing is most people just believe the PL is more competitive before they ever looked into it, and those that deny that are just sad.

I never had an opinion on it until I looked, because I got sick of the uneducated claims by many who never actually bothered to go look at it. Same individuals who wont admit it also disagree with people who have looked into it. Then they run off looking for anything they can find in 5 minutes that backs their argument. Anyone recognise themselves here in the above? :D

Sure UIR says that the title spread in the PL is better since 92. Which is a complete joke of a statement.

Uefa's rules make European clubs subject to their rules on the laws of the game, conduct of players etc, but there should also be a Uefa rule on equal tv rights in nations under their jurisdiction, take away the current tv money system in La Liga and Barca and Real would face better competition in a financially fairer league.

Yes. At the moment it is a two club challenge for the title year in year out. Others have very little chance (except for the odd athletico challenge ). With a fair distribution, the others could buy better players and the competitiveness of their league can improve.

it gets tiring, I already discussed this, and every time I proved a point the goalposts got moved.

Someone said Barca and Real dont lose games, I showed the stats which disproved that, did anyone accept they were wrong, no.
Then it was the points gap, I disproved that.
Then it was the bottom 5, I flipped that perfectly
Then money.. which actually just proves Spanish sides do better with far less cash
Then goals scored by Real and Barca, but not mentioning Ronaldo and Messi Neymar and Suarez.

So suares makes the PL more competitive last year but makes La Liga less competitive this year?... urgghh.. puh lease <laugh> #convenient

    **** off <laugh>

Next season someone will throw the hull Liverpool game last night at me as some sort of proof of competitiveness <laugh>

And the gap to the other teams in Europe would decrease.

    Bayern then win everything...

And this is where we differ. Because you care not about anyone else apart from those capable of winning the league. In that case 0 leagues are truely competitive.

I I on the other hand are talking about the league in general and teams competing in a one off game against each other which shows that in our league you get mid table and relegation teams offering more of a threat to teams higher up than in La liga

    Wat wat wat.

I merely made a joke line aimed at Biscan, you jumped all over it and I got dragged back into that unprovable argument about competitiveness of leagues.

The last time I ended up in that debate, it was because I made one reference to it in an otherwise unrelated post and UIR and Biscan jumped on that and the same thing happened.

    <laugh>

I've had this debate three times and every time the exact same thing happens, people say the usuals, I point out the faults in it, they come back with something else, I merely point out that is a fallacy and they come back with something else.

I am pretty sure it is accurate to say that the vast majority who deemed the PL "fairer" did so without even knowing.

But I get tired of the wrong categorisation of my point. I say mid level teams are more competitive, and people, you included come back with the money is spread more evenly and such things, and that is a different matter.

Otherwise I get goal difference scored thrown at me and I rightly point out that most of em are scored by about 4 players in Spain.

In any meangingful way of measuring La Liga (football and success) is more competitive in Spain and Europe since 1992.

It gets tiring re posting the same posts 2 3 4 times and having the same debate over and over because I make a 1 line reference to it or in this case, left a bit of tongue in cheek bait for Biscan as we recently went through that whole melt of a debate that, for any of us, is unproveable.

Opinions are like arseholes we all have one<laugh>

I have to reiterate my point that started this again.
The teams outside of the money bags teams in Spain compete better than their counterparts in the PL, they win more trophies. Forget money forget the GD of the bottom and top sides, forget the money spread. The proof is in the pudding.

I'm just tired of people(not nessessarily you or Biscan but people in general) assuming PL superiority in every way cos it's their league, and the fact they have not even examined it<doh>

BBC Salford's narcissistic reporting on Beckham and his looks makes me want to vomit. A true indicator of how sick society can be as they lap that **** up.

Sky have been reporting on Beckham's birthday as well.

Gerrard's birthday is the 30th May. I didn't know that until every media outlet started babbling on incessantly about how wonderful it would be if Liverpool could win the FA Cup final for Stevie Me on his birthday.

Clearly Garth Crooks was watching the Chelsea game.

"How refreshing it was to see a good old-fashioned contest between a winger and a full-back at Stamford Bridge on Sunday. Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic and Crystal Palace's Yannick Bolasie went at it like two prize fighters slugging it out and without any interference from the referee. Sadly for Bolasie and Palace, Ivanovic won on points."
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/32577870

Ivanovic wasn't up against Bolasie, frankly Bolasie had a very quiet game, the Palace player was Zaha. The picture used in the article even shows Zaha <doh>
