I know there's still another game left but hey - people can always change their minds if necessary! Feel free to add your own categories. Player of the season: Troy Deeney Unsung hero: Ben Watson Goal of the season: Almen Abdi Bolton away Team performance of the season: Middlesborough at home Favourite moment: The final stages of Huddersfield at home. Being pulled back to 2-2, down to 10 men and up against it the team really dug in and the entire stadium sang for the last 5 minutes or so. I remember sitting there thinking something special might just happen come May
Hard to disagree with these especially the Huddersfield game, something special did happen. If ever there was unity between the crowd and the players that was it, up to now.
In a season when Angella hasn't always looked as strong as last year I'd offer Craig Cathcart as an unsung hero. In a sometimes chaotic defence he's often been the one consistent performer. Deeney's led by example but I also think Giedioura made a crucial impact at exactly the moment we needed it. Oh, and almost forgot...Prat of the season: the bloke who sits two rows behind us and has moaned non-stop about his own team all season.
Goal of the season - Matej Vydra, home against Brentford Ref of the season - Keith Stroud - VG performance in Brighton match Midget of the season - Ikechi Anya. Surprise of the season - Odion Ighalo Mystery of the season - Whatever happened to Ross Jenkins...
Player of the season TROY DEENEY on the basis that CRAIG CATHCART is unsung player of the season. I can live with that. Best performance from the subs bench - FORESTIERI v Reading Goal of the Season - CATHCART v Brum. Oh the joy and the relief Cant stand up for falling down award - Wes HooliwhoahereIgofallingoveragainhan I hope we don't sign him award - Tom Ince (by a mile) tosser
Player of the Season - CRAIG CATHCART on principle of being a steadier influence than the emotional TD and mercurial HG Unsung Hero - the COACHING STAFF. SJ has had to work with what he had inherited and vise versa. Very professional, and very well done indeed fellas! Goal of the Season - FERNANDO FORESTIERI v the Dirties, doing decent impersonation of John Barnes at the Maracana. Team Performance - Home v Middlesbrough.... if we weren't sure before kick-off, we were at full time! Individual Performance - ADLENE GUEDIOURA v Derby.... just breath-taking! It even eclipses Heidar Helguson's incredible debut against Liverpool for me. Favourite moment - well it has to be the match at home to Huddersfield. The day was a very special day as fourteen of my family were at the match having had a memorial ceremony that morning scattering my late father's ashes behind the goal (later to be interned in the stadium permanently) having passed away following complications from heart surgery in June. There is an obituary in that match day programme and the players were aware... read into it what you will, but so far as I'm concerned that day they played for him, they battled for him and they won for him. Tomorrow we finish the job: #fornicforpromotion
The Usain Bolt award for getting out of Vicarage Road quicker than most of the fans on match days - Lloyd Dyer
Thank you kind sir, though all I can really say about that is you all make it so easy to be nice to, and I'm very happy to see Leo posting more regularly, when he, cologne and OFH get debating, I learn so much, and it's all done with respect!
Injury of the season - Lloyd Doyley's head injury while celebrating promotion that puts him out of contention for the last game Away performance of the season witnessed by yorkie... so not many to choose from! .... 2-3 away to Leeds.. .from 2-0 down
i never bothered with nominating a lucky charm as it was a landslide. Tell Mlle that the trophy is in the post
Most unpopular supporter 1) the guy who ran on at the end just before they scored 2) the flare thrower
If the CCTV camera on the edge of the Rookery was working yesterday it should have picked up images of the culprits. Hope they are banned for life.
