That would be something granted I think we seriously need some form of new system that stops trafficking of kids and then some means of making kids actually earn their crust and be hungry. I've no idea how you reform it.
One way is introducing salary caps for players under 23. Ensure they don't earn too much at a young age and keep them hungry ...?
Yes. it has to be global or at least europe wide to just stop flight to other areas. if say Real can offer that kid Odgeaard 80k per week (reputedly) then every kid in europe is open for poaching. he was supposedly in the squad last weeked due to lost of injuries and semi finals coming up... now at 16 by the time he is 20 that 52x80x4 = 16.64 million pounds. less tax call it 16mi you any of us bother after that? we cna do what we like for the res tof our lives. At LFC I watched conor coady develop nicely for quite a while then stall... i wonder why... not good enough? maybe so. was england u17, u19, u 20.... all the way up then plateaued. Could it be the 5k per week development wage per chance? Why does a big lad with lots going for him just stop developing at about 17/18... lack of chances? manager didn't fancy... i don't know.. jordan ibe is on 10k per week now and will prob jump to 35 or 40k on this 5 year deal. 10k per week - 500k a year... thats what jonh barnes used to earn I mean it is rather nuts. yes and bad feeling within the real b team squad too. it is outrageous but a good example because it is just so. Do you thin kif you were say 17 and got handed 5k a week you'd keep working hard or think this is gravy now.
Sure Barnes getting that £10k contract was about 1991-1993 time so a little over twenty years. I suppose that's I long time but a 3,000% mark up (based on top earners in British football) over two decades is quite substantial! I play football for free now (well, i pay!) and strive to be better so I think I would try hard still but that's not the case for most. Having unlimited money (£5k at 17 would seem like an unlimited pot) is bound to impact on your life though.
BTW coady's played for huddersfield in the championship this year. It that all he is? who knows but he was a good big lad for his age with us and a DM so b all rights he should have progressed more but didn't. i don't know why.
It gets worse. When Sterling signs for £150k (!) Ibe will be thinking "I am playing better than him and am more valuable to the team, why should I only get a quarter of what he earned/s at that age? I need at least 100K or I am off to one of the other top teams willing to pay me this." We'll be mad not to join in the madness.

All sources estimate around 80k a week Biscan, got anything to the contrary? His salary info has not been released and I'd say it's not been released because it may well be in around 60k maybe with addons a week which is still ridiculous. Apparently it's been reported anyway that other real players are proper irked at his wages
