I don't know, journalists routinely get away with writing all sorts of stuff about managers and players and people in general and are rarely called to task about it. Hardly a day goes by on here without some story or other shown to be half baked and lacking in substance, and rarely if ever is the responsible party prepared to justify or respond to objections. I see that Pearson has since apologised to the journalist in question, for that he should be applauded as well as the entertainment he provided in the original incident.

I love the UK it's the bloody current culture I struggle with Yes it's my problem but it's based on the greed ... Believe me I have enough run ins with my Jewish fusspot ... You need opposites for any balance I have had houses in France for over 30 years so I suffer from seeing both sides I challenge most people to say we haven't become unbalanced in the UK. I find the drama that is whipped up by UK reporters no longer acceptable and without doubt that influences modern culture I challenge UK business culture also it's crazy times France has its own problems yet the simple everyday culture is without doubt a lot better ... People generally care a lot more about other people and talking to anyone is common place ... The difference between the people is vast example on the trains in France expect people to talk to you The UK esp the South is a very unsocial place ... Compare the difference between Ireland and the UK ... The people are real I smoke In France simy because I can and I am extremely grateful I can work in the UK but spend too much time here is not healthy
