She did take over from Alec Salmon. Next one will be Haddock ( grandson of a left back we once signed from Aberdeen).

'The wealthy'.... Oh you mean the people that supply the majority of the jobs in this country, and the people who pay into society the most.

Lets have labour back in, and bankrupt the country again.

Bankers are still at it with these " buy to let " loans lining the pockets at the expense of others. Student loans and zero hours contracts are all bad concepts I thought I would never see. How times have changed from when I was a happy hippy.

Zero hours contracts are a typical Tory concept that surely has no place in a so called caring society...

Sturgeon and Salmond may be astute and practised politicians, but neither have kids (no stake in the future, Salmond married somebody old enough to be his mother, would he get on with Rooney?) they only care for themselves and wish to be King and Queen

Labour didn't leave the country in deficit - Northern Rock did - Labour bailed them out - at the time of the beginning of the bail-out, The country was not in deficit - in fact it was the opposite - then Northern Rock ****ed everything up and Labour ensure that the wealthy and non-wealthy people that banked with them were still entitled to their money - if Labour hadn't done this then the deficit would be far less but the people who had their houses/savings etc through Northern Rock would be homeless and skint. What would you rather a government did? Leave people to lose their homes or bail them out by borrowing money? The tories would've done EXACTLY the same but their excuse would've been that they did it to save people. It's a commonly misrepresented fact by the Tories

Are you suggesting that the Tories (or Cons as they are sometimes, appropriately, known) tell fibs, Marcus <whistle>

Well the dozens we've had in power that did have kids haven't done a lot of good, have they? In the world education league table, Britain is in free-fall. I think Britain has too much prejudice based upon marital and parental status. (75% Council Tax for the single is a prime example). A person should be valued and paid for the work they do, not whether they spawn kids.

On 1 January 2010 the bank was split into two parts, assets and banking.[15] In June 2011 the bank was officially put up for sale back to the private sector, and on 17 November 2011 it was announced that Virgin Money were going to buy Northern Rock plc for £747 million up front and other potential payments of up to £280 million over the next few years.[16] The sale went through on 1 January 2012.[17][18] The government said it had no plans to sell Northern Rock (Asset Management). There would be no further job losses, except for the ones already announced. Virgin also pledged to keep the headquarters of the bank in Newcastle upon Tyne.[19] The combined business now operates under the Virgin Money brand.[2

Hardly a couple of quid mate, and a hell of a lot more than what was being offered by any other viable concerns at the time..Plus the sale went through in 2012 when the Tories were in office as well..
