What a sad state of affairs. Hopefully his statement will clarify some of the confusion and speculation.
And here is the reason why.... http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/Les-...rman-retires/story-26397065-detail/story.html Obviously not happy with the Forster's statement
This is sad news, Les Hare really must be feeling gutted after all the time and effort he put into the job. The Allam family really have this bad habit of opening their mouths and putting their foot in it.
The chairman found out the club was for sale at the same time we did? Obviously a close working relationship.
It is absolutely disgraceful that Les who is basically North Ferriby United is now walking away from the club into which he has poured his heart & soul for so many years & many thousands of hours of hard work. Without the huge effort put in by Les the club would have disappeared years ago.....he has driven the team forward, raised funding through sponsorship & taken the club to promotions well before any Allam/Forster involvement. He keep the club on a manageable financial footing until one summer (at the time of the global financial crisis) the club lost 80% of it's main sponsors. This news basically means that NFU really are screwed.....I doubt Les will be the last board member to go !!
It was the WAY the club kicked them out of the Airco. It would have been acceptable, grudgingly, to all the clubs if the situation was explained and in good time. But this regime lacks foresight and has no idea how to communicate.
I know Les quite well & all I would say is that his statement is very out of character from one of the most pleasant & level headed men in football. He must have felt pretty much betrayed to do that & walk away from something he has spent 20 years building up
It's a familiar story though isn't it. Owners make mental decision, chairman and players find out at the same time and are outraged. Chairman leaves shortly after. Owners make ridiculous claims about money. This is May 2012 all over again, but a few miles west. This family really has a problem working with a chairman/chief executive/MD type role don't they?
Does anyone know what actually has happened to lead to, this situation? Or are posters just guessing? What exactly was the catalyst, it cannot be just money and it cannot be spite, because if it was the latter, the money would have just stopped? There is more to this, that has not been revealed, it is not money, it is about the relationship between the owners and the board.
Could be as simple as the owners got fed up with their little toy & ran out of friends/colleagues to entertain in the directors lounge & while doing so they pushed the finance of the club from just about manageable to totally unsustainable. Les loves the club & seeing it torn apart & the players/staff/volunteers being **** upon would be a step too far
If only there was someone on here who knows a man who knows a man who works for the club. There was OLM but he seems to have burnt his bridges and his mate is not replying to e-mails.
It's all just guesswork on here though isn't. If I for instance put up the real reason for this, I would be challenged and asked for proof. But idle gossip and wild speculation, develop legs of their own. Rather than the players being threatened with legal action, could they have withdrawn their statement because they now know the real reason behind the sale? Could Les Hare have made an error of judgement that has ended up with him stepping down? Who knows, after reading the posts on here, it does not look like anyone who has posted knows the reason either. If this wasn't another reason to bash the Allam family, Fez would be all over this like a rash. Common sense say's that there is more to this, but that will not suit some will it.
It could be that people know, but are not prepared to say on here, even OLM may know, but will not post the real reason in case it burns down another bridge?
I totally agree with that. I know some fans that rejected offering Ferriby their support after Les's ill considered "Hull Tiger's" comments though.
A supporters meeting has been arranged at 2.00pm today at the bar at the club if anyone is interested. I don't know anyone involved in North Ferriby, so I have no idea what's going on, though there's a reasonable chance there'll be people in the members bar tonight who do.
