Yep, and I don't have any sympathy for the owners, but they have spent £250m of their own cash largely on players and players wages on the advice of Warnock, Hughes and Redknapp. The fans have been ****ed over by a whole bunch of people.
I'm not saying he was a great loss but an ambitious club would use the money wisely. TF's attitude was - our youngsters will keep us up. Haven't seen much of them recently either
What youngsters? Our youth team compete well below other PL clubs and are not even good at that lower level so how will they be able to step into the Premier League? Last year Fulham went down and Felix Magath decided to use their youth team that had reached the FA Youth Cup Final and narrowly lost to Chelsea, so they were a top side at that level, but they were way out of their depth in the Championship. What hope do we have with a much poorer youth side? Frankly, TF has lost the plot and doesn't have a clue...
The problem is, in his inexperience of the management of a football club, he' s gone from one extreme to another. Overtrusting (of his various managers' views on potential purchases), starstruck and rashly extravagant - to thrifty to an extent unrealistic if we wanted to mount a serious challenge in the Prem this season. If we go down, now highly likely, he's going to have to come up with a credible strategy for building a team and squad bottom up to give us a platform to mount another Prem campaign with a settled team ( even if it takes 2 or 3 seasons to get there) and bring in a manager that convinces fans this is deliverable.
The only thing that makes me think they won't is that Liverpool have been a farce in PL terms since that league's inception. You can always rely on Liverpool to make a mess of an easy win on paper against a Mickey Mouse team
We are done in more ways than one. Unless Tony either buggers off or appoints someone other than himself to run the club (maybe Amit) then we will continue to lurch from one embarrassment to the next. I could see that toad faced hoof ball merchant 'Fat Sam' turning to fill his retirement fund.
Agree, as we struggled in the championship with the strikers we had and especially when Austin got injured. We added nothing upfront in the premiership. Waiting to the January window shut, and Harry deciding to leave, with no chance of a new manager coming in and adding to the squad to at least give us a chance. Really poor if you think about it.
Yeh, well .................. what little life we had left just got sucked out of us by Hull. Well done to Hull, they live for another day and another season. Bartender ................ make it a triple!
I use to feel sorry for TF & Co with the wasted millions. I don't any more. Poor decision after poor decision. Not all avoidable but even if only one was put right - Remy staying or being replaced by A.N Other - likely that would have been enough. It is crunch time when we find out how deep the pockets area and how firm their commitment really is to QPR.
