We didn't win. I don't even think we had a shot on target in the first half ffs. It was WBA ffs No, Brendan...this is just you getting your defence in early..... I notice how little comments about us missing a quality striker all season are appearing in the press. Jesus, my 12 year old lad could see what we needed last summer......tbh, I'm not sure if BR would know a quality striker if it came up and bit him on the arse...... If he has another season at the club, then I will expect the same mediocrity. #fedupwithbrendansbullshit
I read that, barely noticed as it's a run of the mill Brod thing to say. Saying Liverpool were outstanding imo is the same as saying it's my fault not the teams that we didn't win, if you read between the lines. He should just accept the blame tho, the failure was his, we never troubled them at the back, our movement up front was so static when we pinned them back there was no clever play or intricate moves or any decent movement to create shooting chances around the 18 yard box, shot after shot hitting bodies, Brod failed in that respect. It was a decent performance that lacked a cutting edge up front. tbf to Brod, Pulis is pretty adept at that sort of thing and we've no player who is performing magic tricks up front atm We were predictable.
We're always outstanding - it's what he says after every game afterall. I suppose going from 2nd to 5th (possibly) is outstanding too. Also with KKK - we all knew we needed a mobile striker in the summer, but Rodgers didn't get one. He just now seems surprised that we don't score goals when it was obviously going to be a problem ages ago. He's just slow to recognise problems and a bad bullshitter because I don't know a single person who listens to him any more.
Pathetic comments yet again from Rodgers. We had possession, that was it. He wants strikers too, with Origi coming in I bet we add Ings and that will be it. Might check the odds for us to finish 5th or 6th next season, its a sure win.
Pathetic? I sense some "embarrassment" felt on his behalf? Funny how our own managers can have that effect and our countries leaders can do it daily and go unnoticed. To me, Rodgers soundbites are meaningless. I couldn't care less. It's pissing into the wind to even bother with them
All you unhappy chappies can pool your cash and fly a banner over anfield Look! what's that!? Is it a bird? is it a plane? No it's a #meltdowninthesky
Are people still paying attention to what he says? Haven't you lot learnt that it's all crap that comes out of his mouth yet
Brod reminds me of many a cliche spouting corporate type I have come across in the corporate world over the years.
I think there could be questions flowing around about how he is managing our forwards at this moment in time. Without doubt last season this was one of his strengths. However argubly having Suarez as an option made it a lot easier... Sturridge seems to always be out with something or be on that of the bench, despite the fact he should be our first option. I'm not too sure what is going on here, I assume it is all injury related. And as far as I am concerned he may be shot through Micheal Owen / Harry Kewel syndrome... Although I would still like to portion some of the blame to Rodgers, Borrini and Balotelli.... I know they are not the best, but in my eyes they are still pretty capable 2nd tier forwards and argubly we could of been better off building them in to a system rather than playing a premaddona winger as a "false 9". Sterling is good, but his inability to make the correct decision in front of goal could probably be bettered by Brad Jones. This may sound mad and I know the other two (especially Balo) have a lazy repuation. But have either of them really been given a chance? You can't expect either to score in 10 minute cameos each game. And I'm willing to bet Balotellis minute to goal ratio rivals Sterlings? What really frustrates me is he says "I havnt got the options" when he doesn't give anyone a chance and relys on a winger to play in the position when argubly they doesn't even want to play for the club!! Poor management, and it's frustrating as I still believe Brendan could offer a lot more...
Agree we needed a striker but Rodgers has been lauded as some great attacking coach. If that was the case, why aren't we creating chances? Fair enough, we don't have anyone to put the ball in the back of the net but the least I expect for us is to create clear cut chances. Just makes the case that Luis Suarez carried Rodgers even stronger.
There is a quote from Brod himself floating about somewhere stating that we need two strikers in the summer!
If we had beaten West Brom by 6:0 I wonder what Rodger's comment would be. I cannot find the right word because "brilliant" is not appropriate.
Didn't read the OP so can someone just let me know if this is one of the weeks that Rodgers is being criticised for saying too much or one of the weeks that Rodgers is being criticised for giving stock responses that give nothing away about what's going on behind the scenes?
