    Kane - Costa - Hazard - Matic - Coutinho - Sanchez - Bertrand - Terry - Cahill - Ivanovic - De Gea

6 Chelsea players which is absolutley fantastic for them. I am sure Cahill and Coutinho may well cause some disagreement on here though. Perhaps some other omissions.

Pains to see Bertrand, oh well..

Cahill & Coutinho are ridiculous picks.

I can just about understand Coutinho only because there's not been many standout midfielders. Maybe Schneiderlin. Agree on Cahill but, again, who has been really good this season?

I'm sure the De Gea pick will irk one or two.

I'd have had Fonte over Cahill.

Countinho for me is the only really baffling one. It just shows you how a bit of hype can really get a player's reputation sky rocketing.

I know statistics don't tell the whole story, but this one is for the Chelsea fans:

    League goals (assists) -
    Oscar 6 (7)
    Countinho 4 (4)

And I won't have anyone tell me that Oscar doesn't contribute as much to the team.

Fabregas, Cazorla, Sigurdsson, Schneiderlin all above Coutinho for me.

Fonte or Koscielny would be above Cahill at least

Just proves that who does well around voting gets the nod. No one will convince me that Coutinho has had a better season than Fabregas but has had the better last few weeks.

Oscar has had Costa Hazard Fabergas to work with, Coutinho has Balo Sterling Lambo Lallana unfit Sturridge ect.

Then try understand how football works :bandit: An assist is when you pass to a player and he scores. Can't blame Cout if he puts Sterling through and Sterling fluffs the shot.
Did you actually watch Coutinho when we played you at Anfield in the cup like, he was very good and outshone Hazard that day and imo, he's better than or at least equal to Oscar atm, which is some improvement cos Oscar was much better than him the seasons before.

You can't rate a midfielder by just assists and goals.

Anyone here dismissing Coutinho has obviously not watched much of him, please don't embarrass yourselves by lying and saying you have.

I have no problem with the other picks, De Gea has been better than Courtois, Aguero has more goals than Costa and made more of them himself too in what has been a **** City team this season. Both he and Costa have been in and out of their sides. But Aguero has been completely ignored this season for some reason by the media

When you watch Chelsea but you don't watch Liverpool how can you say that <laugh>

I can't say Coutinho has been better than Fab cos I have only watched a handful of Chelsea games, I would imagine it should be the same but opposite for you?

I think that if Cout had some real quality to work with this season, we'd not even be having this debate imo

    Fab 16 assists tho, fantastic<ok>

I was very clear in my wording saying that assists don't tell the whole story. However you can only take this argument so far. What about Charlie Austin? 17 goals (4th highest goal scorer in the Premier League ) for QPR, second bottom in the table. At the other end, Ozil is actually incredibly influential in the games that he plays for Arsenal, something that you wouldn't think by looking at his body attitude, but stats reveal he is a key player to Arsenal that doesn't get enough recognition and despite his price tag does come in for unfair flack. To say that Countinho, playing in a team that is 5th, is somehow not surrounded by quality players is doing a disservice to Liverpool and strikes me as dishonest. This boy was flavour of the month and has laughed his way into PFA team of the year above a myriad of more deserving players. The same applies to Cahill and Ivanovic, albeit to a lesser extent.

I accept I don't watch Coutinho as much as Fabregas but Fabs assist stats alone should get him in. He was pretty much regarded as the inform player in the league for the first few months. Short memories perhaps?

Ifs, buts and maybes but Coutinho has had a good season but nothing more IMO.

I was very clear with > :bandit:

And I agree there were better options for the slot than Coutinho.

But people vote on this based on who is media bullshit flavour of the month when the forms are handed out :D

De Gea has 10 CS in 34 games, Mingolet 13 CS in 30 games - most im PL with Forster<whistle> Ming had his blip before voting, De Gea after voting though to be fair De Gea's distribution of the ball with feet is a lot better than Mings
    Just saying <laugh>

Not ifs and buts, Fab has played in a much better more complete team this season.

I do not doubt for one second thatputting Cout up to play off Hazard with Costa in front would produce a lot of goals, Fab beings different qualities than Cout and could easily play in the same team.

For example, Coutinho is way better at receiving the ball surrounded by 3 players and dribbling out and finding a pass, Fab is better with his final ball and helping dictate play. He is 7 years older and far more experienced tho but I reckon Hazard would possibly benefit more playing with and close to Coutinho given his style.

Any team having to deal with them on the right side would have immense trouble anD I think hazard would have even more goals as a result given Cout can find people with through balls better than most this season.

He has a ways to go yet but he's only 22

that being said, there are always better options usually come the awards, they are all selected on opinions anyway, not stats
