Boycotting will only work if we don't buy tickets or merchandise

If fans really want to go down the route of not turning up, there's no point if we've already spent our money.

The only thing that will move ashley is a lack of profit, so therefore if this route is seriously the route you want to go down, we need to cancel season tickets, refuse to buy tickets and not buy merchandise.

People will state we need to support the team more than ever now, but turning up is only solidifying the position we are in now.

If Ashley can get away with it, it will keep happening. I personally would rather us suffer a little bit if it means a new owner and a new outlook, even if means spending some time in the Championship and building our way back up.

I'd rather have the days under Chris Hughton in the CC with passion and commitment, then be lower-mid table mediocre, no ambition and lifeless.

We have a lot players that probably haven't performed well enough to attract great attention from other clubs, but are potentially quality players, with the right management and ambition.

    I agree.

However, this season boycotting all of the remaining games and then not renewing tickets will really make the club sweat over the summer.

I'm not sure for everyone but my season tickets renewal was in March. The Club already have my money. I'm sure that applies to most if not all season ticket renewals.

We all know they do it to try and stop people cancelling.

A lot of ST's auto renewed in Jan for those on long term lock in deals.
For me the boycott was not about money.
Matchday revenue is chicken feed compared to PL money.
The point of the protest was to raise awareness and send a visible message to MA and the TV audience that we are missed off.
For me, both objectives were met.
The fact that lots of positive rumours came out just before shows we're on his radar.

The crux is what they do now. I suspect nothing. They will view the boycott as a one off and carry on treating us like mugs.

Nothing clever about it, they are taking us for granted.
West Ham have shown the way and are reducing the price of season tickets because of the money they are getting from Sky.
Great gesture but can any of us on here ever imagine Sunderland or Newcastle ever doing this, they've been taking the piss out of us for years.

Not sure this is something to have a go at MA about! Prices for Season tickets have been pretty good and we were/are the cheapest day!

No the tickets are not cheap - we pay our season tickets and by mid December if we have enough points the seasons over - therefore £500 for maybe 10 games

The club really are alienating the fans now. Whoever it is coming up with these ideas is an idiot.

The boycott was about more than JUST the money, it is about standing up together as a fan base and showing Ashley that we aren't willing to take all he throws at us lying down any more.

Unfortunately not enough people saw it this way and that is why it failed so much.

Obviously hitting him in the pocket would be ideal but the bad publicity alone is enough to get to him, to say none of it will make a difference is narrow sighted, banners and leaflets taken from fans, journalists banned, extra security on SD stores, ticket prices being slashed, these are all little pin pricks, and are hopefully just the start, if more and more fans get involved these efforts can multiply and we could potentially get him to him big time.

We need to separate the fans action into 2 parts; it is not one protest. There is the boycott which is positive and will make a difference as it is financially detrimental to Ashley, highly visible in the media and not aimed at humiliating and provoking the vindictive tyrant. And there is the AshleyOut.com nonsense which is aimed at a change of owner and is not so clever. They seem to be trying to get Ashley to sell, most likely at a loss to a buyer which doesn't exist. What we want and need is a change in approach from Ashley. Negative PR is catching up with him on all fronts so hopefully it will have an effect. Until then by all means stay away and buy nothing from him but we don't need a big song and dance about it, not flyers, mobile billboards or web sites.
