Sir Elton John has spoken of his happiness at Watford winning promotion and believes the club “is in the best shape ever”. The music star and life-long fan was chairman when the Hornets embarked on their famous rise to the top tier of English football in 1982 under Graham Taylorand was also at the helm when the former England manager returned to Vicarage Road to guide them to play-off glory at Wembley Stadium in 1999. Writing on his Instagram account, Elton said: “Congratulations to EVERYONE at the club!! – the managers, the players and all the back room staff. Also to the Pozzo family, for moving the club forward. It is in the best shape ever. And of course to all the supporters who have been magnificent all season. Today has been very happy for me, David and our boys.”

Mind you Gardner has hit 25 goals for Preston this year. Maybe we should have hung on to him for a little longer to seen how he would developed in a successful Watford side?
If I had been on a football forum just after I was married I doubt that we would have lasted so long. Maybe it was a good job that such things didn't exist then.

What a fantastic day of football... Such a nervy game but a great win to produce our best sequence of wins at the right time, and then to put so much pressure on the other teams! Gutted I couldn't be there Saturday (own fault) but think my heart my not have taken it at times... but I iwll be there for the promotion party this Saturday, then maybe a drink or two after. COYH!!
I think it is more likely the comment that adults were only allowed in with a responsible child. Unless they meant to write that!
