Well when he has to replace palaces best players and he has to make his own team we will se how good he is
All I'm saying that team is not his it's the previous mangers once he has had a season u will soon se how ****e he is
Newcastle fans got their wish when Pardew left. Either he was a better manager than they appreciated or Carver is the worst manager in PL history. They could still get relegated!
Apart from being part of the 'London mafia', what is the issue with Pardew? Consistently hamstrung by a transfer policy aimed at making money and finishing mid-table but played decent enough football and probably over-achieved for the squad he had on paper. Plus it's never easy managing a club that thinks it's a hundred times bigger than it is with fans that hate you and expect the world.
"Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew hopes his side can keep the Premier League title race going by beating Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday." (BBC football website) There's delusion, then there's 'Pool, then there is Pardew.
Pardew used to love blaming everyone else but his tactics. At one point he blamed the fans for CHEERING the team on for the team making an attack, whilst in the lead which led to a breakaway (and subsequent) goal by the opposing team. please log in to view this image
It's like trying to identify the bean that made you fart in the bath as there were literally so many examples. He initially said he didn't head butt Meyler.. please log in to view this image Then initially that he 'never swore' at Pellegrini.... please log in to view this image Then that he was just being playful by jokingly pushing the linesman over..... please log in to view this image I could go on but I guess you catch the drift. I notice he has lost 4 on the bounce himself now...
You must see the irony here, WR. Maybe not you but many on your board expected a lot when the Mittals then Tony etc took over
Not really, no. A few messageboarders might have got excited when stupid money was thrown at the club but people you meet at games have always been aware of the size of the club and the realistic glass ceiling even with some cash. The fact we've spectacularly failed to get anywhere close to that glass ceiling is a harsh reality. I don't think it's comparable to a club that's never done anything thinking they're one of the biggest in the country. We were excellent in the 70s. It doesn't mean fans expected us to be as good in the 90s.
