So you really think after staying up for one season you should start spending millions on players who are going to be shipped out on loan, I think I'd rather spend that money on people who are going to help you survive.
If you bought some naked photos of Leslie Ash for £800 and you sold some naked photos of Leslie Ash for £800, how much have you invested in naked photos of Leslie Ash?
I wouldn't particularly call Diame core to our team, we got him on deadline day, he played about 5 times.
Well to be honest my post was a joke but if you're going to reply seriously.....the word invested wasnt used. It was spent. And you've still spent £800 on those photos, you just got £800 back for some different photos that you didn't want. When people talk about Man Utd spending a British transfer record on Di Maria they don't knock his value down cos they sold Danny Welbeck in the same season.
It wasn't serious, I was being sarcastic. When the clubs spending is calculated every season, it's always based on net spend... please log in to view this image
Talking of net spends and Leslie Ash, imagine catching a trout, in your fishing net, that looked like Leslie Ash*. I have nothing further to add, except a footnote, and apologies. It has been a long week. *they all look like Leslie Ash
Really? Do you know anything? How many relegated clubs have managed to sell 10+ players to other premier league teams?
That might be because they have had no relegation clauses and players are quite happy to pick up PL wages whilst in the Championship. If we go down and players that are currently earning £20k a week suddenly find themselves on £10k (poor dears) it won't take much of an offer to get rid. The club will get a fee (admittedly probably not true market value) and get the wage bill off the liabilities. The Allams have proven to be Kings of ****ishness in regards to a lot of things but on this policy we should give them a hat tip.
It's not always at all but it really doesnt matter. Anyway, whenever someone complains about Hernandez being a waste of money at £10m I'll point out that he actually made us a £2m profit. It turns out he was a bargain.
If you swap an £8m player for a £2m player, then the £2m profit you made on the deal makes it anything but a bargain.
You're talking as if we spent all our budget on young no-hopers. We bought Maguire, Robertson and Ince. 3 very good young players. But they are a gamble in the short term. I have no problem whatsoever in spending a minority of the budget on younger players. Some will have an impact immediately but others won't. Robertson has had a good year and considering we only paid £7.5m (roughly) for all 3, selling him alone would recoup most if not all of that money. Financially it's a much better investment and you are likely to unearth a gem (eventually)
I think he's saying: On paper: Sell Long £12m, buy Hernandez £10m = profit £2m Market value of players: Long £8m, Hernandez £2m = paper loss of £6m for £2m actual profit = realistic £4m loss once Hernandez is sold.
Most teams don't want to have a fire sale, do you really think players like Huddlestone, Dawson, Chester, Robertson, Livermore, Diame, Jelavic, N'Doye, Elmo even Hernandez would be lacking for suitors? LG456826 cat5a u/tcp ethernet minix 8 hd
