I'm sure we're not alone in this but it is really irritating that so many of our supporters don't seem to understand the game.
I agree in general but for Palace away I think we should play them at their own game. They like to counter attack we should sit back which stops their main threat, silence the crowd make them attack and break us down (which they will struggle with) and hit them on the counter, they don't have a lot of pace at the back but they get away with it because they don't ever seem to keep the ball and play higher up the pitch.
You see you analyse the game too much like Bruce, Attack is the only form of defence, this is no time for faint hearts, we need the guts of Lord Nelson who fought on with only one arm and one eye, Attack and be damned, at least we will go down fighting like proper men. Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more; Or close the wall up with our English dead.
When the other team will break you down if you sit back then attack is the best form of defence like when we changed formation against Chelsea. Palace want us to attack them we would be playing right into their hands, I'm not suggesting 5 at the back but a sensible 4-4-2 we just can't overcommit players or we will lose.
I'm somehow reminded of that iconic scene in Bottom where Ritchie and Eddie sit down to play chess. After a whole load of build up, Ritchie finally attacks in his own weird way, making a total hash of it. Eddie then takes all his pieces in one go and wins the game. Sounds eerily familiar.
Man U have shown you can move the ball sideways for long lengths of the game but you still have to edge forward with it to score!
Dear Steve, Thank you for your prompt reply, can you do it again please. Yours very surprised steverico
