Rodgers bottles big games when the pressure's on.

He's fine when you're chasing down a goal that looks slightly beyond reach, but once the expectation rises and the real crunch games arrive, he's folded every time.

Hang on did he waste that money on **** players, or was that money well spent to massively increase our gap over record-spending Everton?

Or are **** players even enough to increase our gap over the pure garbage Martinez has bought?

I get the impresion some are putting too much stock in what Brod says.

It's superficial as I said, meaningless, and it's part of the media circus. It's actually less than worthless to even have opinions on it and people may only care because it gives opposition fans ammunition.

Personally I am not and never would be personally emabarrassed by what Rodgers says.

As long as he stops talkng about Sterling like they are on a plantation in Georgia USA a century ago, I couldn't give a turd's turd :D

People are taking Brendan's USA style corporate PR speak too literally.

He's spent £150m more than Martinez, of course he should be ahead of him, however, given he said himself that Spurs should be challenging for the title after signing £100m of players in one window, then he's #failed by his own definition

    Happy to help <ok>

We're talking about the difference between this season and last

Or are you admitting Rodgers has taken us forward over 3 seasons and Martinez massively backwards over 2?

OK so Rodgers has currently moved us 3 places forward and Martinez has spent 1/3 as much to move you 6 places backwards

Without Suarez last season we'd have probably got 5th or 6th. So we've probably inched forward in those 3 years. Def better than his first year this year so we have improved

Unlike Martinez, who's done brilliant. The points difference between last season and this is huge, fair play to him

  12. Martinez is still using the majority of Moyes' team. He takes his time putting his own stamp on things because it delays the inevitable departure following relegation <whistle>

The difference between me and a deluded kopite like you, is that I will openly say that Martinez has done a ****e job this season with what he had at his disposal.

You'll just blindly argue on and on that everything in the RS garden is rosey.

Last season he had a defence that had been coached by Moyes, a midfield that had been coached by Man City and an attack that had been coached by West Brom and Barcelona

This season show what players do when they're owned and coached by Martinez

What about deluded #bitters like PJS? http://www.not606.com/threads/the-cost-of-going-backwards.298173/

And how come you're now back to talking about this season FFS I told you to sort your story out

This season has been poor but with the Suarez, Gerrard and injury situations I would like to see another season to judge properly as all managers would have struggled

So going backwards, drastically, is ok if you spent less than someone else?

    hmmm interesting concept

Equally last season Rodgers had Suarez so his team talks probably amounted to "when you get the ball give it to Luis and he'll be brilliant because he's a brilliant player who's been brilliant for us."

This season he doesn't have Suarez so his team talks have probably gone back to being about about false nines, reverse forwards, inverse goalkeepers, what his mammy put in the envelopes and patronising Raheem Sterling.

    Hence #tacticalgenius

That's total nonsense and you know it. I suppose we did the same under Rafa with Torres<whistle>

Fergie did with Ronaldo too I suppose, the one man team myth rears it's head again.

It's simples stupid, you have a quality player that can do damage, only a total clown would not think of getting the ball to him. Hazard at Chelsea? the list goes on...

Suarez created so much space and chances for others as well as scoring many goals himself

PJ's thread is nothing more than a fishing net for tiddlers, and I see he's caught one.......

All managers would have struggled? What with an injury to 1 player after having spent £117m in 1 window? <laugh>

What Gerrard situation? His choice whether to play him or not.

He's massively failed this season, but thanks for proving my point <ok>
