Delph is a quality player imo, has been performing for years. False comparison. Even then how long did it take for his callup

Clyne, was the best RB by a mile for the two seasons upto the WC.....Now in the squad,ok>

Gerrard blocked Delph and also the arsenal crock and Gerrard too<ok>

His father has said "Jack will be lining out for the Republic of Ireland u21s, in their next match."

Thing is too, his Dad is also English, and he no doubt helped him decide on this matter, Samuels wants to deny others like him the choice in future, he's a ****

Samuels has no control over the rules, it is just his opinion for teh Mail FFS <laugh>

Lets look at Samuels bitterness from another angle, how many top players in the last 20 years have England been denied by Irish scouts snapping them up?

he wants rules that would resign this lad to the playing no senior international football, but as long as Ireland cant have him, then great, so the Samuels rant goes anyway

kinda proves he doesn't give a monkeys about the lad.

That's not what he's saying at all though.

He's saying that the grand parent rule is tenuous and allows nations to go sharking for players, who have no real link with that country, and pointing out that if the larger countries went hunting for young star players in the likes of Ireland that the same tenuous links could be used to the detriment of their 'real' Nation, brought about by bungs and dodgy agents.

I can see the ppint when you make it Tobes, but having read Samuels whole argument it smacks of other agendas

But a fair question is how many top talents have been nabbed by Ireland this past 20 years using this rule?

or tell me when do you look at the Irish squad and think "**** we could have done with him"? <laugh> not often I bet given PJs comments about sitting out the summer tourneys :D

The ancestry rule is there for all to avail of, heck Januzaj could play for England if he waited another 5 years or something.

Samuels is a **** end of <ok>

Those rules are there to promote the best players to playing in international football, if not with their home nation then another, even if their is no ancestry criteria met

This is modern sports, Samuels is a ****s stuck in the past <ok>

he is only trying and failing to create a logical argument because of his feelings that are probably not legal to publish :bandit:

CLyne is of higher standing than Graelish that is for sure matey

you might as well say Sterling is an example <laugh>

Thing is I have used a perfectly good examples and you are now being pedantic, Sterling only really gets a game for the full squad due to playing for Liverpool TBH, Ibe is miles better<ok>
