So where are they going to come from, or indeed will they manage it? DICK ADVOCAAT says Sunderland need to average at least a point per game from their final six outings, if they are to beat the drop. With the bottom five in the table all yet to reach 30 points heading into the final half-dozen games, there is realistically no prospect of Sunderland requiring a tally of 40 – traditionally seen as the safety mark for Premier League survival – to extend their stay in the top flight. Many have tipped 35 as the magical number which will be sufficient and Advocaat agrees – predicting that Sunderland need a six-point minimum haul from the last six games if they are to be safe. “We need at least six points from the last six games to stay up,” he said. “But we have the feeling we can do something.” Stoke..A Ston. H Everton. A Leicester. H Arsenal. A Chelsea. A Well? Look at them last 2 games man, ffs.
^^^^ that's where the six points are coming from Comm, them last two games. Arsenal have cemented their place in CL and will be in holiday mode and Jose is used to us ruining his home record now. F*cking doddle..
You look at these fixtures and the Leicester game is pivotal. I live in the hope that this resurgence that Leicester are going through will collapse soon, but somehow I doubt it. If we get beat this weekend, we are in very bad shape, we desperately need a point...again, more hope than anything
Positive hat on. Think we'll draw against Stoke, get revenge against Southampton, draw with Leicester, draw with Arsenal.
What Gil said ^^ stranger things have happened, wouldn't be surprised if we got nowt more but neither will hull
One game at a time, let's just worry about who we're playing this week, bugger what we need by this time & that. Keep it simple dick
I'm with you on this. Plenty of twists and turns ahead yet, we could need 0 points or we could need 9. 1 game at a time is the only thing keeping me sane.
Mate has dick ever been in the **** before? I mean a relegation battle, like the old firm on here I guess I get sick of players saying we need to do this that etc
Thats the risk short has taken, among others... He's been a little chirpy for me. After our derby win I didn't like his comments on SAFC fans wanting him permanent manager.. Nor about how many points we need either. Maybe I'm old school, or maybe I've heard this all before from previous managers talking **** but I prefer actions speak louder then words!
Chelsea will be confirmed champions before our game with them. Don't write that one off, we could get something from it.
It's their "lap of honour". I have a feeling we'll get utterly hammered. They will be playing with zero pressure and will want to put a show on for their fans on the last day, hope I'm wrong but I would not be surpised to lose that one 9 or 10-0.
They will want to make up for us being the only team to stop them scoring in any game in any competition this season!!
