could be hard drive failure ... or need a reset .. trouble with reset is data is lost .. what Operating system is it ? ... I doubt a hardware failure tbh .. but you need to tread carefully as you could lose everything on it ...

If its Windows 8 or 8.1 .. makes it a little more difficult but manageable ..

if you need it looking at msg me on facebook Pete (is it you? ) ... Ill sort but will need it overnight and will discuss on there

    oh Dazed btw ;)

Are you sure the hard drive hasn't just unseated it's self mine did that once. It slides in from the side and had just come out by a mm or so. As soon as I shoved it back in jobs a gud un. Mine was a Dell btw.

I don't know if you have anything similar in the UK but queries are answered from all over the world on the following forum:

    http://forums/whirlpool.net.au

This covers everything you want to know from Computers,Internet,Electrical Appliances, there's a whole wealth of subjects and I have found it invaluable especially being an 'old wrinkly' with people only too pleased to help. Well worth a look - and it's FREE!
