Looking at some of the papers, it has been reported by The Sun that ex-Villa manager Paul Lambert could be being lined up for the Sunderland hot seat. Everyone's favourite toilet paper says that the Black Cats will be making a summer move for Lambert after relegation to the Championship. The tabloid says that Sunderland owner Ellis Short is a big fan of Lambert and he is particuarly impressed with the way he can put a side to challenge together on a budget. If Sunderland do go down then their best players will no doubt be on their way and if Lambert was to come in, he would be able to assemble a squad with not too much cost that would challenge for promotion, although it must be said that while Lambert has done fairly well in the top flight, he is untested in the second teir. But we aren't down yet. Read more: http://www.sunderland.vitalfootball.co.uk/sitepage.asp?a=396970#ixzz3XlPV3r00 Well, it better not be true
What do you mean he's untested in the 2nd tier didn't he take Norwich from league 1 to the prem. That said I still don't want him but wouldn't be one bit surprised if we end up with him.
That sounds a tad claggy Billy, be like a jelly fish sea food platter whats been through a blender, not that iv'e tried it like, cough cough.
Best players moving on ???? Who the F*** would you keep? We are the next Sheff Wed, Leeds or Wolves. 3 clubs bigger than us!
I read the news every morning and can never understand why nobody seems to be queing up for any of our players.
Latest "The Sun" sportsdesk discussion. "Well... How about managers and clubs, we need a story so lets start something" [inaudible rustle of paper] ""Club number..... 24 - Sunderland" - "Manager number 18 - Paul Lambert" "There's your story"
It's a non-question as we'll still be inthe Premiership next season. However, despite what the article says,I'd say Lambert has a superb record in the lower divisions but is a failed premiership manager. He may be a lot of things but he is someone who can get a team promoted.
I'd be gutted, seriously if I was a mackem and he even got linked to my club. He's the Ed Milliband of the football manager world, lifeless dickhead that you just want to punch and punch and punch and punch until he looks like the inside of a Cornish pasty.
Harry Redknapp, likes the sound of his own voice, talks absolute **** non-stop and a compulsive liar. Still, rather have Redknapp than Lambert, just.
I'g rather have Warnock, Ron Atkinson, Joe Royle, Frankie Boyle, Kate Bush, Ilene Dury, Ian Dury or the Chuckle brothers than that ****. Tell's you all about our ambition doesn't it? We have none.
I don't think Lambert is a bad gaffer personally but he is a million miles from what we need. Which, loosely translated, probably makes him the favourite...
